Overview
Welcome to Cardhu Country House which sits in the very heart of the Malt Whisky Trail. Cardhu Country House is an exclusive rural retreat in Speyside's Whisky Country, offering luxury bed and breakfast and fully-catered accommodation. We have six en-suite guest rooms with a guest lounge, dining room and gardens. The House was originally built in 1868 as the manse of Knockando Parish Church, and it sits in its own stunning, walled garden with views of the local hills, mountains and rolling countryside. We are located in the Spey Valley close to Aberlour and at the very heart of the Whisky Trail, where more than half of Scotland's malt whisky distilleries are to be found and just a mile from the River Spey, famous for its salmon fishing. The Speyside Way, the long-distance walking and cycling route linking the Cairngorms to the Moray Coast, is a short walk away.

“Cardhu House - a beautiful stay in the Scottish Highlands”
Location was just lovely! Colin and Sarah could not have been more helpful. The rooms were very well appointed and the en-suite facilities were great too. Breakfast in the morning was a real highlight - especially the porridge made from whisky soaked oats!

“Luxury without pretension”
Everything! A beautiful home in a calm, secluded area. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home here. A warm welcome from Colin, a delicious dinner of locally sourced and homemade food, a large room with so many nice touches, and a hearty breakfast (ohhh that whisky porridge!). Luxury without pretension. Perfect!

“An incredible place with excellent hosts”
The property is perfectly situated in the middle of whisky country. Our hosts Colin&Sarah were super accommodating with all our requests, advised us on tours not to be missed. Everything was spotless clean, beds super comfy, breakfasts just great. We dined there twice as well and were very satisfied. I would absolutely recommend this place and stay again.

A mirror image of the Macallan Room, this room has a cosy, intimate feel with a king-size Bed, large sofa and powerful walk-in shower. The Aberlour Room is double accommodation only.
Macallan - King Size Room
This second floor room with its large Dorma window boasts spectacular views to the North. Keep an eye out for the Northern Lights! There is a king-size bed, a large couch and a modern shower room with large shower. The Macallan Room is double accommodation only.
Cragganmore - Super King Size or Twin Room
A Victorian-style bathroom with stunning roll top bath and an overhead shower are the favourite features of this room. The bedroom is light and airy, with beautiful views of the church and the garden. The Cragganmore Room can be set for double or twin occupancy.
Glenlivet - Super King Size or Twin Room
Our largest room boasts a super king-size bed, dual aspect windows with window seats and views to Ben Rinnes and the church grounds. The bathroom features a large double walk-in shower. The Glenlivet Room can be set for double or twin occupancy.
Knockando - Super King Size or Twin Room
Recently converted to accommodate a super king-size bed, the room has views of the rear courtyard and distant rolling hills. It is bright and spacious with a generous walk-in shower The Knockando Room can be set for double or twin occupancy.
Tamdhu - Super King Size or Twin Room
A warm and inviting room with views of the Conval Hills in the east. It has a king-size bed and modern bathroom including a spacious bath with an overhead shower. The Tamdhu Room can be set for double or twin occupancy.
