“Lovely place”

The Lodge is one of the cosiest places I have ever been! The host was so lovely and welcoming! I can tell everything is done with love and attention to detail! It is a short walk from the train station and the city centre, but based in a quiet and very calming area.

Location ideal - in a very quiet area but only a ten minute walk from town. Easy on-street free parking. Easy check in. Very friendly and welcoming host. Spotlessly clean bedroom and en-suite and comfy bed. Breakfast ordered the night before and served at a time of our choosing in the delightful dining room - crisp white tablecloths and a view of the mountains in the background. Full range of cooked breakfast available as well as eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, cereal etc. Cooked fresh - very generous portions, beautiful golden egg yolks! Lovely small guest lounge with a full range of drinks available to purchase. Highly recommend this lovely BnB.

The room was really lovely and spacious. Beautiful en-suite shower room. Very comfortable bed. Quality duvet & pillows. Well presented home cooked breakfast with lots of choice. Super quality food. Use of separate spacious living room with separate dining room. Lots of on street parking nr the B&B. Easy to walk either into town or the station. The owner Gayle as an absolute delight and very welcoming. If we come back to this area we’d definitely stay here again.

Great location and despite no dedicated parking available it was super easy to park directly outside without any issues. Lovely friendly and welcoming staff and the breakfast was amazing.

Exceptional B&B. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfy and well equiped. There is a living room area, plus a dining room area. The breakfast was top quality and filled our bellies for the day ahead. Couldn't have asked for more.

Although parking is said to be street, it is on a quiet back street with plenty of areas in my recent experience. The building was beautiful, clean and organised. A short walk to town, amazingly helpful and genuine staff - you will not go wrong.

I have never had to write a bad review and we use booking.com a lot, but unfortunately this time I must. When choosing this property, I was concerned about check in times, becauser we we're flying in from Portugal and would be late, so I phoned the property first to make sure it would be ok, the owner said fine, they would leave the keys in the door, so we booked the garden apartment. A approximately 2 hours before we were due to fly, the owner phoned us to say we couldn't stay in the apartment, we'd have to stay in the house, this is not what we wanted, but obviously it was to late to make different arrangements. No real apology was offered. On arrival again no apology offered and we weren't even showed to the room, the owner was more concerned about a friend stuck in Dubai. The next morning after breakfast, which was good, we asked the staff member if we could speak to the owner and were told, she'd had to go out early to the hospital, strange I'd seen her take the dog for a walk and her car was still outside !! She said she would pass on the request. We were staying 3 nights and no effort was made to see us. After breakfast on the last morning I again asked to see her and was told she was on the phone, I said I'll wait and incredibly she appeared straight away. Meanwhile we looked in the apartment through the window and could see no sign of any work, just dirty pots on the sink. Any when I saw the owner I asked her what she intended to do about the price difference, obviously the apartment was more expensive!! She said there was no difference, so I showed her on booking.com, she said they had got it wrong, when I mentioned telephoning her she completely denied every talking to me, obviously I had phone records, she then made out she had blocked off all the other rooms so we would have the place to ourselves, amazing you can do this at such short notice!! Basically what ever I said she had a made up answer for.
