Absolutely stunning surroundings, so nice to see the sheep and peacocks right outside. Close enough to shops/attractions to be convenient but secluded enough to feel like a real little getaway! The cottage itself was beautiful, very spacious and super clean with all the essentials. Particularly liked the extra games/toys, great for evenings by the log burner. We will 100% be back!

The location was exquisite with views of the fields and ancient trees nearby. Three peacocks came to visit and walked in our garden throughout the stay, and the windows in the kitchen let so much light through that it feels like an enormous space. The kids adored the pool table and children’s book collection, and we loved every minute of it!

“A great relaxing place for exploring the nearby mountains”

Lovely location down a farm lane nestled amongst other converted farm buildings. The house felt very warm and cosy and everything was really nicely done. Bed was very comfy and kitchen was roomy and well appointed. We also loved the free roaming peacocks. It is only a short drive to Abergavenny which has plenty of places to eat and shops. And it’s close to great walks up the nearby mountains. We had a lovely stay.

Excellent location and great facilities in the cottage. Beautiful kitchen with huge windows and everything you could ask for in terms of equipment. Lovely to have 2 lounges and look out onto the fields and animals. Great attentive host who responded quickly to our enquiries

“Superb property in a good location”

The kitchen was large and well-stocked with equipment. The small pool table kept us occupied in the evening. The peacocks resident to the area were a delight!

Very pleasant stay, with a fully equipped kitchen, lovely and clean throughout. Surrounded by nature. We often had little visitors from peacocks and chickens which was so lovely also a lovely view of ponies. Rachel was very helpful with any query’s I had. its definitely a place where you can relax and enjoy. throughly enjoyed our stay here. I would definitely stay again.

“Welsh Gem”

The wife & I liked everything about this place, we just wish we could of stayed longer. I'm originally from Abergavenny & was visiting family but we like our own space as well. We have stayed at several places during our visits but "The Old Bull Pen" beats them all hands down. We had our dog with us & it was nice to let him run around outside without worrying about him getting out. Just 2.5 miles out of town but so peaceful, no sound of cars or people going by. All you could here were animals like chickens, a Cockrel, a pony grazing & the odd Turkey Oh and the insects. We were able to get a really good nights sleep with the windows open which was great as the weather was very very warm during the day. This was by far the most relaxing place we have stayed & the best sleep away from home we have had. A very big thank you to Rachel for letting us stay & we will definately be back.

“A lovely cottage for family of 3-4 people in Abergavenny”

The cottage is 5-7 mins driving distance from Abergavenny high street so was very convenient . The facilities within the cottage were great . The wifi worked really well for whole family to use devices in parallel.

Location was great, no road noise, view onto fields with sheep and Shetland ponies. Lovely light in kitchen which was really well equipped. Loved the wood burner which had logs supplied enough for two evenings. Sat outside on the patio area for afternoon cup of tea in the sunshine which was blissful. Really loved our stay.

We liked the guinea fowl wandering around outside and the under floor heating and log burner. We enjoyed the mini pool table.

The outlook from the property was lovely. It was tidy and spacious. Out of the few cottages here on the farm, this had the better parking space. It was quite tight space in track to get there.
