This former coaching inn is set on the edge of Brecon Beacons, in the historic market town of Abergavenny. The Angel Hotel offers a restaurant, bar, and free Wi-Fi. The service was mostly first class. Just one glitch when we were left unattrnded7 for 15 minutes in the upstairs bar area after receiving menus. In the end I tracked the waiter down and asked if he was going to take our order. Apart from that it was excellent.

Breakfast was lovely. Really good portions. Staff were excellent. I arrived late due to travel delays and staff reopened the kitchen so I didn't go hungry. Everyone was really friendly.

It was a delight to stay at The Angel! From the moment we arrived we were looked after so well by all the fabulous staff at all times of day and night. I can’t thank the kind man who helped us out in the courtyard at three o’clock in the morning and brought delicious tea and a cappuccino covered in salted caramel chocolate! Every part of the hotel is a magical blend of glorious architecture that has been there for hundreds of years and modern luxury. My room was the best! I wish I could have brought it home. With the exceptional en-suite. My bed was so comfortable and the bed linen was perfect! Every need was catered for to ensure the most delightful stay. The Angel Hotel is in the heart of Abergavenny, allowing such easy access to anywhere in the town. It was the best holiday in a place that I love. Staying in the Hotel made absolutely perfect.

“Great charming hotel”
I loved the vibe in this hotel. Very characteristic but also modern comforts. Lots of activity in the bars and restaurants. Very lively. Beautiful spacious room. Friendly people. I loved the restaurant. We had the best meal of our trip to Wales here. Breakfast was outstanding. Great table service, drink top ups. Loved the hospitality. The town is lovely as well. Parking lot behind the hotel.

The service received was first rate … more like a five star than a four. Staff couldn’t do enough and their recall of personal preferences was exceptional. The rooms were clean comfortable and well serviced. The location right on the high street was super convenient
