Lovely property. There are lots of books and the views are amazing from the windows. There were some generous food items left for us which we really appreciated - a lot. We were woken by sheep, cows and pheasants and the lane is only used by residents so was very quiet and the skies were pitch black at night. The cottage is very clean and well kept.

Very nice cottage located in a beautiful landscape close to the village and the coast. The renters were friendly and kind, showed us around the house and garden and greeted us with some fruit. There is bread and tea and biscuits for the guests and the renters know Dorset and its hinking paths, cities and villages very well and give good recommendations.

Abbotsbury is a wonderful village which has a lot to offer. The accommodation was ideal for exploring the Dorset coast. Brian and Val were welcoming hosts and the cottage had lots of info and books of local activities.

A great place to stay, fantastic location, excellent hosts, beaches are out of this world, countryside unbelievable, and the history is amazing of this place and area, many things to do ( The swannery is a place you have to visit ). Great little Spar shop in the village not too far from the cottage ( Lovely little walk ) and the people who work there are great too.Val and Brian your hosts are the best we've come across. So friendly and welcoming and would do anything for you to make your stay even better. Arrived home fresh,relaxed and in a good frame of mind ! I would recommend this place without hesitation. To me and my family this place was the best place we've stayed in a long time ! THANK YOU !

“Perfect cottage and location for a relaxing holiday.”

We spent an amazing week at the cottage at the end of June 2023. The owners are a lovely couple who welcomed us and proudly showed us the cottage and their gardens. They shared with us the how they arrived at the village of Abbotsbury on the back of a scooter, their history of owning the cottage, and the hard work of transforming the cottage and the gardens into the beautiful place it is. The cottage itself is spacious, well presented, and equipped with everything you need for a relaxed stay. The location of the cottage is great and provides easy access to the village of Abbotsbury with various amenities, to good footpaths through the surrounding countryside, and down to Chesil beach. We found the cottage perfect as a base for days out, however, we would have been content to stay at the cottage and enjoy its facilities, local walks, and gaze out of the window at the beautiful rolling Dorset countryside, and the various animals in the fields. It was a sad moment when we came to leave and our 3-year old daughter was very upset that she had to leave her ‘little holiday house’ and all her new friends (soft toys provided by the owners). But her tears were soon turned into big smiles as Val and Brian showed the most amazing kindness to her. We cannot wait to return as Val and Brian are so lovely - it was like spending a week staying with family!

Val and Brian welcomed us with such welcoming smiles, the cottage was beautifully clean with everything you need and felt like home, the garden is beautiful and we loved spending our summer evening watching the sunset and birds, Val and Brian provided an amazing welcome pack to start us on our hoilday, the village itself was very friendly and we felt like locals at the end of our holiday. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we will definitely return to the cottage.
