“Felt right at home. Made to feel very welcome. Will definitely return for another short stay.”
Excellent breakfast. Lovely old cottage. Comfy bed with plenty of pillows. Private use of bathroom with small face flannels for make up removal. Such a good idea. Safe parking off road. Good location for getting around . Very near Chesil Beach which is shingle so wouldn’t suit everyone.

“Gorgeous home stay”
Clare gave me an exceptionally warm and friendly welcome whilst respecting my own space. It was an honour to share her cottage - you have the bathroom and bedroom upstairs to yourself. Her homemade breakfast compote is to die for and if you've never been in an English cottage you'll get a lovely idea of one. The location is tops and incredibly quiet, no light smog so starry skies. This village is unspoilt and with lovely little shops, tea rooms, the subtropical gardens .... I absolutely loved it!

“Great accomodation in a gorgeous little village.”
We loved our stay at No 5 in Abbotsbury. Clare made us feel right at home which was lovely. Our room was comfortable and very clean and Clare provided us with a very yummy breakfast. We loved the village and the walks were could do from there. We went to The Swannery, the beach and to the Sun-Tropical Gardens. All amazing. Thanks Clare 😊

“Nice place to stay for a couple of days.”
Abbotsbury is a pretty village. We travelled by bus, which was easy. Around the village, there were honesty boxes outside of people's houses where they were selling their surplus veg and eggs. Which was nice. There's only one pub for evening meals, but it was fine. Claire left us lots of reading material for places to see around Abbotsbury, which was very useful. I think we got to most of the attractions. There's also a nice local shop. We caught the open top bus to Weymouth, which was lovely.

It is absolutely perfect for my needs, visiting family in the area. Very cosy room and tastefully decorated. Few lovely touches, especially the tipple of sherry in the room. Claire was an excellent host. Lovely breakfast.

“A home from home in the centre of a beautiful village.”
We loved our stay at Number Five. Clare was the perfect host, and Button the dog was so friendly too. Clare is a dog lover and also made our own dog very welcome in the cottage. The room was as described, comfy bed, and it was pitch black and silent at night. The church is located right next door and you have a good view of it from the bedroom window. It was lit up at night and looked really pretty. Breakfast was delicious, with a homemade compote and yoghurt available, toast, cereals, egg and bacon. Clare was a hive of information about the history of Abbotsbury and places to see and eat. Although Clare does live in the house, she stays overnight next door when there are guests so you really do have a completely private bedroom and bathroom. The cottage itself is located in the centre of the village and is a perfect location for exploring the area on foot. We thoroughly recommend walking down to Sally's cafe on the beach for delicious cakes and coffee.

“A lovely relaxing stay helped us to recharge our batteries after several years without a holiday”
My wife and I loved staying at No.5. Clare was a wonderful hostess and provided us with a lovely stay at her home. The village for us was in a really good location as it gave flexibility to venture west into Devon and explore the beautiful landscape of East Dorset too. Clare provided a lovely and well laid out breakfast every morning. There was a nice pub (The Swan) within a 4 minute walk where we ate evening meals when we didn’t manage to eat during the day. The property is situated close to the old Abbey ruins and a village pond which we found delightful. We stayed at Clare’s for 7 nights and in the main after plenty of day time walking we were happy to just crash at the end of the day in our room. Clare’s property is clearly full of love with lots of picture frames dotted around the place with family and memorable locations on show throughout. Our dog Cookie made a new friend in Button, Clare’s 13 year old Cavapoo. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, so thank you Clare 🙂
