Extensive kitchen,. The village A is beautiful, much better than neighbouring Reine.

Lovely cottage, noisy seagull nesting in ahouse nearby but inside the cottage it wasnt a problem.

“Great location but no staff”

Very clean, big kitchen with a lot of facilities, big and nice common area, a cozy and charming old building. Tip: if you are allergic to grass (hayfever) like me and you come in summer, bring some anti allergic medication.

Not only charming old, but also not maintained. Dirty shower, broken door, screaming seagulls just under the window so it wasn’t possible to open it.

Unfortunately I could never recommend this as a place to stay, for anyone, on any budget. The setting was beautiful, but that is down to the beauty of Lofoten. The building did have a certain amount of charm, being from the period that it is. BUT there is a general feeling of a lack of maintenance by the owners, e.g. No-one who was there at the same time as us could coax one of the two ovens into life, and there were no instructions on how to operate either, and no sign of a main switch and no sight of the owners. The showers I took flooded the shower room, a sure sign that the drains were clogged with god knows what. But the real problem, that the owners tried to pass off as "quirkiness" was the noise from the floors above us - it sounded like someone was permanently exercising on a pogo stick above us, and their compatriots were in the rooms on either side. A real shame as the place clearly has a lot of potential in many respects.

“Well located comfortable hostel”

Location, right in centre of A. Good amenities

Simple rustic hostel with plenty of space in kitchen and common room. Nicely situated in the heart of the small old fishing village Å. No staff on site, everything handled remotely, but easy to reach via What's App. Old house with poor ventilation in the smallish rooms and without modern noise insulation, but we had no problem sleeping in (I assume if other guests would have been less considerate it could have been).
