Overview
The Relais & Chateaux Schönegg is located on a hill above Zermatt and is connected to the centre via a mountain elevator. It offers a 24-hour reception, free WiFi and a view of the Matterhorn. The units at the Schönegg all come with a minibar, cable TV and a private bathroom with a shower. Most of the units feature a balcony. In addition, the suites provide a seating area. Guests at the Hotel can enjoy a daily breakfast buffet, including local and home-made products. The on-site restaurant provides a view of the mountains from its sun terrace. A spa area comprising a sauna, a steam bathtub and 2 whirlpools can be found on site. A relaxation area is also available and massages are available on request. The Sunegga Ski Area is located within 80 metres from the tunnel exit and the Gornergrat Railway is 200 metres away.

“Beautiful, relaxing stay in the mountains.”
Beautiful setting high up on the hill. Comfortable and cosy bedroom and bathroom with a terrace with incredible views. Beautiful rooms for breakfast and drinks in the evening. Great tunnel leading up ti the hotel. Good boot and ski rooms.

The location with a wonderful view on the Matterhorn. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fine dining and excellent breakfast. Free shuttle between hotel and train station.

Schoenegg hotel in Zermatt has a unique position offering an unrestricted view of Matterhorn, very comfortable and importantly with a friendly helpful staff - an example of Swiss hospitality. The breakfast is exceptional and the restaurant offers very high quality menu.

“A definite 10/10!”
Staying in this hotel unexpectedly became the highlight of the trip to Switzerland. The view from the room was stunning - from sunrise to sunset, it has the best view in Zermatt. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great too. We also like the cool entrance to the hotel. It was a superb experience staying there.

Fantastic location, spectacular views of the Matterhorn from room and restaurant. Great breakfast and dinner. Friendly and helpful staff throughout. Nice electric car to collect and deliver you to the train station. Room was spacious and clean with really comfortable large bed.

The hotel has outstanding views of Matterhorn. Also the breakfast was phenomenal. The staff is super helpful and always is willing to share a lot of tips about zermatt. Regarding the location, the hotel is just a 2 minutes walk to the Sunnegga Rothorn lifts which make it really convenient if you plan to enjoy the ski station. Finally the hotel provides a shuttle service from/to zermatt train station. Will definitely come back

Right from the time they picked us up from the train station, the experience was nothing short of WOW. The Hotel itself is very well located, right next to the Ski lifts. If you have kids, they'd love the entrance to the hotel, from a tunnel. The facilities and amenities at the property are all very good and efficient. Extra points for the staff who are extremely courteous and always ready to help.
