When I arrived, there was no one there. The house is quite big with many rooms, and I was assigned to a shared dormitory with multiple beds. I followed the instructions and found the key smoothly. It was quite surprising that there was no one inside. Fortunately, it was not completely dark when I arrived, so I explored and found the light switches one by one. After turning on a few lights, I felt much better and more relaxed. If I had known there was such a big kitchen, I would have brought some food to cook, because the nearest convenience store is about a 30-minute walk away. The house has its own character. I’m not sure if other women traveling alone would feel scared, but I am a calm and quiet person, so I felt quite peaceful throughout the whole experience. At around 8 pm, a young male guest arrived, and we shared the same room. To be honest, although it was a bit inconvenient, having someone else there made me feel more comfortable. But if you enjoy quietness, this house in the countryside is a great choice.

It's a beautiful place in the countryside. As I stayed alone for 2 days there, I felt like home and comfortable. This place was very convenient as a Ohenro with many temples around. You have all the amenities you might need and the place is also very clean and quiet. The afternoon you might encounter the kiwi farmer living near by, working in the kitchen. I really enjoyed it, she was super nice !

It was a big Japanese traditional house. We weren't numerous travelers, but it was great to have the house for us. The kitchen were well equipped and the futon comfortable. Closed to rice field, so it was quiet. All is self chek-in. We saw nobody except some farmers working around...a lot of space, making easier to park a car

Beautiful place, minimalist style with everything you need. Easy self-check in and great communication from hosts. The location is wonderful, ideal for pilgrims heading from temples 73-74.

Albeit quiet, the living space of miyama-tei is relaxing and neat; It’s a shame there weren’t more people staying, so as to make the most of the soothing atmosphere and facilities. The bikes were very useful for travelling into, out of and around the area.

We had a wonderful time spending with our friends here. Very good location, clear introduction before we check in, very fine kitchen equipment so we can cook us a simple meal! Love the washing machine and the shower was great, too! A neat and big house, full of traditional Japan culture, a beautiful and historic building. So worth it.

The House is very nice and spacious. It has a good layout, and even if all the rooms are occupied there was enough place in the shared space for everyone. The hosts are very nice people, who answer all the questions very quickly, and were always ready to help. ^^
