“Simply Awful. On all levels, avoid, avoid, avoid.”
We booked 4 rooms at Golden Zaan Hotel for a tech conference nearby, expecting a hard working week - with a very nice relaxing nearby hotel location to make our working week much easier. Instead, we were treated awfully, the standards of all 4 rooms was terrible, with no towels provided, no curtains, smelling of damp, electric wires hanging loose in a BATHROOM?! - it was so horrendous we immedicably booked somewhere else after 1 night because we simply couldn't have stayed there - also to make matters even worse, for the whole week we started itching as, after leaving, we came out in a huge number of bites - so the BEDBUG INFESTATION that other travelers have warned about is still very valid - this made our work trip an absolute nightmare! 😱🛏️ We have not been credited from the hotel, even though we only stayed the 1 night - so they are illegally keeping our money for 4 people x 4 nights - and we are having to liaise with Booking.com to try and recover some of these costs, with no response as yet! We have had to go through a process of disposing of luggage and disinfecting clothing to ensure we have not picked up any travelers - we are only thankful that we left after 1 night so hopefully we might avoid any infestations at our homes upon returning - The fact that a hotel can be so badly run and allow such a severe infestation is beyond unacceptable🕷️ I cannot stress enough, that unless you're expecting anything other than a pit to sleep in, you should avoid this place.

“Never again”
Hello! First of all, I would like to point out that this is not so-called "hate" but constructive criticism. I booked a room for 3 people in your hotel, paid a considerable amount and additionally went to ask if there would definitely be three beds. The receptionist confirmed the number of beds in the room. The day of check-in came, when everything turned 180 degrees. On April 24, 2025, my family and I checked into your hotel before midnight, unfortunately, the esteemed receptionist said that the room was for two people. There was a huge misunderstanding, because the receptionist, an extraordinary professional- this is sarcasm of course, said that we could buy another room for an additional fee of 80 euros + 60 euros additional cost for administrative services. Having no choice, we agreed to the proposed conditions. The next day, enjoying the beautiful weather and atmosphere in Amsterdam, I received a message that the additional room was unpaid and I had until the end of the day to collect my luggage. So we quickly headed towards the hotel, and here's where the worst happened. When we entered, our card didn't work, and all our things (without our knowledge) were packed in garbage bags. We felt like the culmination of the defecation process, apart from the financial conditions and the accommodation itself, we are embarrassed by the attitude of the people managing the facility. I hope that in the future you will take a step forward with your approach to the customer, and above all with transparency! On a maximum scale of 10, I must honestly give a rating of less than zero, and for the receptionist I recommend completing a school that will prepare him for management and working with people. Greetings to all "screwed" by these people, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this facility, because we cannot name this building like a Hotel.

“I don't recommend this place for anyone. Disappointing Experience”
A place taken out of some hollywood horror movie. Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The cleanliness was far below acceptable standards, with the bed and sheets covered in long dark hairs and unpleasant stains. There was also a noticeable crack in the ceiling. The ventilation system was excessively loud, making it difficult to sleep. The shower was inconveniently positioned almost directly over the toilet. Despite being promised bathroom amenities, there was non, we had to call reception twice before they were delivered, and even then, they were half-empty and appeared used. The room itself was not clean, and to add to the inconvenience, there was no parking lot available for guests. Overall, this experience was far from what we expected and left us very dissatisfied.

I had a great stay at the Golden Zaan Hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The location is perfect—close to public transport, cafes, and local attractions. My room was cozy and comfortable, providing a good night's sleep. Overall, a great budget-friendly option for anyone visiting the area!
