“Great alternative for the expensive onsen properties”

Liked the private on Sen in every room

Very clean and enormous. The private onsen was very nice to have!

1. When we arrived at the hotel, we're told that our check-in time is 3pm, instead of the 2:30pm advertised on Booking.com, the hotel's own check-in information and the signs, and we're told it is not possible that we can have a earlier check-in. However, at around 2pm, we're told that our room is ready and we can be checked-in, this is really confusing. 2. When we eventually got to our room after navigating a bunch of buildings, we realised that the room is not what we have booked and is the more cheaper one that also has a tree blocking all the view, so I had to walk to the reception while getting lost in the maze of buildings just to be told that I can't choose what room I get (but I did pay more money for the better room?). After around 40mins of heated discussion, they reluctantly agreed to give me another room. When I got to the new room, it was better, but again, not the room I booked. At this point I'm just too tired to go back for another potentially more frustrating discussion and had to settle in the room that I got. 3. Throughout our stay, both hot water and cold water stopped mutiple times and when we asked the staff, they said it was because other rooms are using the water, so we can't get any. This is somewhat ridiculous because this sort of issue wouldn't even happen at hotels costing JPY￥5,000 per night, let alone a hotel costing more than 6 times the price. 4. The hotel is quite hard to get to, especially if you have any sort of suitcase, it will be a nightmare climbing up the steep hill and the stairs inside and around the hotel. Overall, I think the hotel is somewhat average for a hotel of this type, but consider the price, I do not recommend this hotel, especially if you can't/not willing/find it frustrating to try to deal with the problems we encountered. There are plenty of other hotels in the area and in neighbouring regions, so I would recommend searching for other options first.

The dinner and breakfast were the best we have ever had!

We can't say enough about this place - We were completely blown away from the moment we stepped inside - WOW. The accommodation was spacious, a little apartment. Beautiful located in the midst of trees and nature. The coffee making facilities was the dream of a coffee nerd. Not to forget the marvelous bath tub with natural hot spring water. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We will definitely go back and stay longer.

Newly refurbished. The room was clean. The bed and pillow were comfortable. In-room hot spring bath. Welcome drink. Free bottle of wine per night of stay. Very good breakfast and dinner. Staff were polite, friendly, helpful and attentive.
