“Peaceful and restorative stay in Yufuin”

Loved our stay here, amazing mountain views and the onsens are a huge bonus (especially if you decide to hike Mt Yufu). Close to a beautiful shrine and a bamboo forest. Felt like an affordable ryokan experience.

The private onsen is great. I used the largest one, it’s spacious and very comfortable. The view from the room is also nice. I could see both the mountains and the city. The location is a bit far away, but if you enjoy walking, it’s fine. I walked from the accommodation to the town for dinner.

Here is a polished and natural version of your review: Very nice family-run small hotel. Extremely clean, spacious Japanese-style tatami rooms with a balcony. The two large onsens can be used privately, which is a great bonus. Even though it’s a bit far from the center, it’s highly recommended.

“Yufuin Stay”

The onsen was a bonus. The location in close to town and the view from the room was stunning. The host was very accommodating and welcoming. We made a last minute booking due to an issue with another accommodation and we are happy for the change. Opt to get the breakfast, it was delicious!

This property was a highlight of our trip, in a quiet location, close to a wonderful bamboo nature walk and magnificent old tree. Friendly management with a pick up service is available after 4pm from the station on arrival, we chose to walk, it took us approximately 30 minutes of scenic walking. The onsen is shared but once in you can lock the door for privacy and have it all to yourself. We knew other guests were staying but never saw them.

“Warm and Homely”

The room is warm and homely, very quiet, suitable for relaxation.

This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

Good location! Nice and friendly staff. Good onsen and good view from the room. Homey food and everthing just feel like home :)

Far away from the train station. Only suitable for driving travelers. the room is spacious, but the toilet is located outside and is not convenient.

“Relaxing stay with excellent private onsen”

The onsen opens 24 hours and can be for private use so I went in twice, one at night and one in the morning. It is a bit away from downtown so it’s quiet most of the time. The tv in my room has netflix and good wifi so i watched some movies and spy family. The room has a faucet and mirrors so I can brush my teeth or do make up in my room. The shared toilets are clean and has sanitising spray for the seat. Also the communal space has hot water and sometimes plays Ghibili music.

I love everything here! The private onsen opens 24hr and all the facilities are always clean and tidy. It's located only 5 mins away from Kinrin lake. The homemade breakfast is perfect for me! The owner is really kind and helpful.

I enjoyed this hotel for its stunning mountain views, and we were fortunate to have the entire place to ourselves during our stay. However, there is room for improvement in the onsen facilities

The hotel and room have a great view of Yufin and the surrounding mountains. The two public onsens were perfect, very nice. Breakfast was exceptional served in the living/dining room. It was within walking distance to the centre and some restaurants, but better have a car to stay there.
