It was a beautiful and peaceful place to relax after a long day of traveling. Mr. Jay, the owner, was very helpful and tried to meet my needs by providing a vegetarian option for breakfast. The place offers a beautiful view and has an onsen to relax. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some peace and quiet.

It's great to have access to a private hot spring with views overlooking Yufuin.

The hotel had a beautiful view and the Japanese style rooms were spacious and comfortable. Great private onsens and the use by guests very well managed. The staff were so welcoming.

Wonderful stay at Hoshinosato. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The dining room has a range of snacks and drinks to help your self too. It is a little bit out of town, but I walked everywhere. The neighbourhood is quiet and it is a pleasant walk to some of the main sights. It has a traditional, B&B feel, which appealed to me. A very pleasant 2 day stay.

Staffs were very friendly and welcoming. The owner was very hospitable too. The room was rather spacious with attached toilet. The private onsen was awesome.

One of the best places I have stayed in Japan during my visit . Staff were super friendly and willing to go extra mile to help and support us. the owner exceptionally drove us to the train station to catch our early train for our next trip. And they also offered us early breakfast before the usual hours.I’m pretty sure I will be back again 🥰thank you

Clean, modern and comfy place to stay with 2 private onsens on site. There is not much around but there is a living area where you can eat your outside food complete with coffee, tea etc. The breakfast was lovely and filling and the staff and the owner were lovely and helpful. Would highly recommend!

“Peaceful, Beautiful and well organised”

This place is a little gem in a wonderful hot spring village in Japan. The staff will come and pick you up at the station if needed for free which is brilliant - they even offer to bring you to the station and pick you up every day of your stay, which is super useful if you are a traveller and have no car as the location is relatively remote. They then explain the rules and give you a timeframe in which you are able to access the (absoutely gorgeous!) Private hot spring. You will be able to be in your own private hot spring with your group! A wonderful experience. Breakfast was also excellent. The rooms, albeit a bit empty, had very comfortable Futons and the view is simply second to none. We loved this place.
