It’s very welcoming and cozy, in a great position and it seems the choice of expert travelers, with whom we shared talks and fun time. As a plus, Jacky, the owner, is “the man”, cool, gentle, fun and ready to give advice and organize every traveler’s need. He speaks perfect english and a bit of french.

We had a wonderful stay! Jacky helped us with the transport to and from his guesthouse. Everything went really smooth. He also recommended a great hike and prepared delicious food. The room was wonderful.

This is a very beautiful guesthouse and Jacky is very hospitable. He helped with our transportation arrangements and was prompt in replying via WeChat jacky981221. We also visited 听山cafe, a short walk from the guesthouse, set in a beautiful house serving home made cakes and yoghurt.

“The perfect place for catching the sunrise at Duoyishu rice terraces.”

This is the perfect property for seeing the sunrise at Duoyishu rice terraces. First off, Jacky is such a friendly and welcoming host. He gave me a free room upgrade on the house to allow me to view the rice terraces directly from my room! He also gave me so much information on photographing the terraces (as a photographer himself). The rooftop terrace at the top of the property also has wonderful views! The room was clean, spacious and had everything I could want and need! I didn’t try the food (as he heated up my leftovers from lunch for me) but it smelt and looked amazing And the best part is it’s a 10 minute walk to the viewing platform so if you are wanting to get there early, it’s super easy to go whenever you please. Be warned, it gets absolutely rammed by about 30 mins before sunset so get there early!

If you are visiting Yuanyang's rice terraces, you must stay at Jacky's. His guesthouse is ideally located in a traditional village and the rice terraces can be seen rolling out into the valley from the rooms. Jacky is such an amazing host. He recommended a local market for us to visit, showed us maps and walking directions through the rice fields which threaded through nearby villages, and was just so proactively helpful and thoughtful - for example, he came to find us when the fog was too thick for us to walk safely back. Duoduo is the best dog and was our guide and saviour on our hike! The home-cooked breakfast and dinner served at the guesthouse is delicious and fresh. The lounge is cosy and there is a nice community feel when everyone is there during meals.

My mum and I absolutely loved our stay at Jacky’s Guesthouse. From the moment we arrived, we felt very comfortable – the interior is incredibly cozy, warm, and thoughtfully designed, making it a lovely place to relax after a day of exploring. The cat and dog there are also very lovely. Yuanyang is known for its high humidity, so it’s unrealistic to expect everything to be perfectly dry. Any comments about dampness should really be understood as part of the local climate, not a shortcoming of the guesthouse. What truly made our stay special was Jacky himself. He arranged a wonderful day trip for us, and thanks to his efforts we were able to experience Yunnan in a deep, authentic, and memorable way. Since we don’t speak Chinese, his help with organizing transport, trips, and practical details was absolutely invaluable. We felt genuinely cared for throughout our stay. If you are looking for a personal, authentic experience in Yuanyang and a host who truly goes out of his way to help his guests, we can wholeheartedly recommend Jacky’s Guesthouse.

Great location in a more quiet area of the terraces. Ideal for sunrise! Walking distance to terraces. Viewing area that belongs to the hotel. Jacky organised a tour for me to see sunset in a beautiful location away from the crowds.

We are very grateful to him for working out for us on which day ( "according to the animal") there was a local market to attend!

We had such a wonderful stay at Jacky’s guesthouse. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect for visiting the incredible rice terraces by walk. The staff were always kind and helpful, and the restaurant served some of the best food we had in Yunnan. We’ll never forget Duoduo, the sweetest dog, who actually guided us through the rice terraces, and Simba the cat, who always kept us company in the living room. They made us feel right at home. Most of all, Jacky made our visit truly special. He arranged transportation, showed us markets and best hiking spots, shared his knowledge of the local culture, and welcomed us with such warmth. Our stay here was unforgettable and made our whole trip to Yunnan unique. We are deeply thankful for the hospitality and the beautiful memories. We look forward to coming back again!

A very comfortable guest house nestled near the Duoyoshi rice paddies, with a beautiful view from the rooftop terrace. Jacky is very hospitable and helped organise our hike in the rice paddies. There are restaurants nearby but we didn't test them out, because the food served at Jacky's was fantastic.

Absolutely amazing stay during which Jacky took great care of us. The guesthouse is in a small traditional village and has beautiful rooftop views on the rice paddies. Jacky planed all our transfers, advised us on what to see and to eat, and even took us on a day tour. Highly recommended!

An authentic place, always clean with all possible accommodations. The hotel has a rooftop to enjoy the exceptional views of the rice fields. Jacky knows the region very well and will not hesitate to guide you on any type of adventure! There is the possibility of eating on site whether it is breakfast, dinner or supper.
