It was a lovely little place . Very clean very cosy .

Pretty much there is nothing I didn't like. A comfy warm little cottage, 6min drive to a massive shopping centre (if you need something) Fresh bread Wood burner And the peace and quiet you can't dream enough about. Also PET FRIENDLY Karen is really attentive to detail and the communication was on point. I definitely will be booking again.

The decor and space was absolutely better than I expected! The beds were so comfortable, the fire was beautiful and the kitchen had everything it needed for me to cook a meal during our stay. Games were a great touch too! I cannot fault the property too much, I really could have stayed another 2 nights or more! Perfectly located around a quiet area but close enough to York city centre!

Loved the facility’s you have in the kitchen so you can cook your own food and snacks. Lovely sitting area very cosy and welcoming. The area it’s in is a very quiet town with loads of access to York. Really nice walks all around. The property has a good size garden and fire pit. Couldn’t fault our stay.

“Idealic, comfortable and safe”

As any stay you never know what to expect. Safe to say we could not be happier. If Laura Ashley made sheds this would be the top draw. You knew the hosts were very close but you felt as if you were in your own little hide away. Karen was on hand with vital information and updates during our entire stay. The rooms were so comfy and clean. We cannot recommend enough. Taxi was 15 ride and you were the centre of York.

It was a beautiful cozy little place, with everything you need. Based In a beautiful area of york, not far from the city Or lovely country walks. Perfect place to snuggle in front of the fire after a lovely day out.

Beautiful, cute and cosy! We loved our stay and will definitely be back. Such a gorgeous location and a short drive into York. Lovely small touches like breakfast included and it has such a lovely feel.

Location, grounds locals and owners were brilliant and helpful as the actual details and address should show at the Garden Shed, not The Old Forge which is the main property and separate to where we stayed. Once sorted a fantastic location far exceeding the humble name. Brilliant for dogs and fantastic walks near-by, easy to get to York as well.

Fabulous character cottage

“It was an ideal property for exploring the area.”

A beautiful outlook in a very large well cared for garden which has an outdoor sunroom, and a swing chair. The property provided everything we needed for a self catering holiday. It had a comfortable sofa and a TV in both the lounge and the bedroom. I linked my Netflix account to both TVs and everything went smoothly. The owner could not have been more helpful to ensure that our stay was the best it could possibly be. We certainly recommend it and we already have.

The Garden Shed is the perfect hideaway! We love Yorkshire, and this is a perfect base for exploring,. It is set in a huge natural garden, and we loved watching a robin, blue tits, a wren and ( we think) a dormouse. Parking in the secluded driveway was superb, as was the internet Wi-fi. The phone signal was not good but that's the network fault. Mini-size woodburner stove was charming and worked very well. Interior decor tiptop quality, with period theme perfectly carried through. Karen (the owner) attended at once to any small query.

A very lovely place to stay. Would definitely recommend!
