Second time I've stayed here as close to my daughter's uni accommodation. Fantastic location (1 min walk from city wall), very friendly staff who can't do enough for you, nice room with bath and all facilities, lovely old pub and this time we got to eat there - food was excellent. Surprisingly quiet for a busy city pub. Secure parking. Would happily stay here again and probably will.

Lovely repeat stay with excellent breakfasts and comfortable bed. The atmosphere in the pub itself is fantastic, with lovely ales and friendly locals. We were also close to city attractions, being just outside Walmgate, near the city walls.

This is a lovely pub. The room was spacious clean and comfortable. The staff are all lovely - friendly and helpful The food is excellent - we had dinner and breakfast all freshly cooked and delicious

A very comfortable stay close to the sites of York. Our room was clean and cosy but faced the street so we had some traffic noise. The breakfast provided was excellent and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The property is in a great location only 30 seconds from the city walls and only 10/14 mins into the centre. Staff were excellent and plenty on so no waiting around to be served. Food was top notch also with a breakfast to want to go back too

Staff were absolutely lovely. Food was lush and the room was really well decorated and very clean. The pub was such a cool place, we booked a table elsewhere for our evening and cancelled it and ate at the pub because we loved it that much!

Excellent location

The hotel was perfect for our needs location wise, as we were going to a concert at the Barbican. There’s car parking available, and a nice beer garden area at the rear of the property. The room was spotless, and the staff really helpful and pleasant. Faultless.

Super nice staff, great vegetarian breakfast, we could leave our luggage on the departure day and pick it up in the afternoon
