“Well worth a visit”

The location was beautiful with the huts surrounding the lake, we couldn't ask for a better view. The facilities were great with everything we needed. The staff were great and really pleasant. Only 25 minute drive into York which is the reason for our trip. If you want somewhere that is peaceful to relax this is the place. The cows and the wildlife were an absolute bonus! The hut was of excellent quality and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was incredibly relaxing and perfectly situated away from the hustle and bustle, making it an ideal peaceful getaway. The owner’s instructions were clear, making everything stress free.

Great shepherds hut, excellent use of the space. Provided with the basics such as milk, tea coffee, sugar, washing up liquid. Warm and cosy, lovely area and views of the lake/pond.

We have just had a weekend here to celebrate our engagement and from the moment we arrived, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The check in information was easy to follow, they met us at the car park with a cart to carry all out things. The hut was clean and cosy, feeling like home and the view of the lake was just incredible. There is a flower garden you can walk round and request a bunch of flowers to be specially cut and prepared to take home. The owner, came and showed us around the farm, to see there cows and horse and answers questions about the animals/farm, very lovely and chatty. It was around and 20 minutes from York city centre and they explained all the transport links and places to avoid the expensive daily parking. We would 100% come again, and planning a date already🖤

“Yorkshire at its best!!”

Everything! Location was great as Shepard huts are ideally located to offer individual space and views. The Moorhen was a very good use of space, with a very comfy bed and powerful shower. The Shepard hut offered everything for a very cosy stay whilst the surroundings offered peace and relaxation, which is exactly what we wanted. We are already looking at booking again as we already miss it!

Everything was spotlessly clean, beds super comfy. Only thing was the spotlights didn’t work. The perfect place to chill out and the superb weather just made the perfect weekend. Will definitely be back.

Lovely peaceful site within easy commute of York city centre. Great huts with great shower and cooking facilities. Nice to be amongst the cows and see the tiny ducklings.
