What a wonderful experience. Our hosts were genuinely lovely people. We got to know them on a personal level, David provided us with some really insightful information over a beautiful afternoon tea. My husband had a massage and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the courtyard. We played take tennis with their daughter, she was amazing at table tennis! We saw the Great Wall, plus so much more all thanks to our generous hosts. Highly recommend.

Very nice traditional Chinese courtyard guesthouse. Great location as it is 15 minutes walking distance from the train station. David, the owner, giving private tours to visit the Great Wall. He is very knowledgeable and explains clearly about the history of China. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Highly recommended.

“Perfect stopover near the Great Wall”

I booked the overnight stay to visit the Great Wall during a short layover for myself and my two young daughters. Took a Didi from Daxing with no issues, even though we arrived very late. David kindly waited for us and checked us in. The stay was fantastic. We did a morning tour with David, who also arranged a taxi and lunch back for us. His wife May met us in the morning with breakfast pastries, which was such a lovely touch. Everything ran seamlessly and we managed to see the wall and learn so much about its history, all in less than 24 hours. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the heater worked perfectly. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at the Badaling Hotel — it felt like home the moment I walked in! David and May are incredible hosts who truly care about their guests. We originally came to see the Badaling section of the Great Wall, but it was packed with tourists — there was already a queue from the cable car! Thankfully, we decided to book a tour with David, a true history lover. He guided us to a hidden section of the Wall with absolutely no other tourists in sight — peaceful, breathtaking, and unforgettable. Later, he brought us to a local farm where we enjoyed a delicious lunch made with fresh, local specialties and even visited an ancient Stone village where we tasted "warrior liquor." Truly the highlight of my China trip! Don’t miss the chance to take a tour with David if you want the real Great Wall experience.
