Kind staff, very helpful. Nice breakfast, actually they made it a little bit earlier for me that I was gonna leave early morning. Also they provide me with skiing boots and skiis for free. Not new stuff but worked just fine

The hotel met our expectations. Having dinner served in our room was not expected so not sure if this is the norm or it was due to having a large group of youngsters staying at the same time who took over the dining area. We had principally come to go to the Snow Monkey Park and were delighted with the free shuttle provided in the morning by the hotel. The staff were always helpful and even helped to drag our luggage to the train station.

“Very comfortable and amazing service”

This property totally exceeded expectations. Booked for a one-night stay to see the snow monkeys. Incredibly, the owner offered to collect us from Iiyama Station at no charge, 30 min drive away (2-hours by train). Next morning, she took us to the monkey park at no charge. And collected us 3 hours later to drive us back to Iiyama along with other guests that she had rounded up for a lift. She is an amazing, bubbly character and the accommodation was just perfect for our overnight stay.

“Beautiful Ryokan and most amazing host!”

One of the best places I stayed during my visit to Japan. The ryokan is in a great location, just minutes from the train station, and the room was very spacious with large windows offering lovely views across the mountains and village. They also serve a delicious breakfast in a dining room with stunning views, which made the experience even more special. The highlight, though, was the host. She was incredibly warm and welcoming, and truly went out of her way to make my stay enjoyable. She was always available to help with anything I needed. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I can highly recommend this beautiful place and its lovely host to anyone visiting the area.

“Amazing Stay!”

We had an absolutely exceptional stay here at Rakki Onsen Ryokan. The staff went above and beyond to help us with anything and everything. We rented all our ski gear from the hotel for free!! I can't recommend this place enough. Would've loved to have stayed longer if possible!

The hotel is located in a quiet village and has its own onsen. The ryokan-style room was beautiful, spacious, and even had a balcony. An amazing experience!

“Lovely stay”

The staff were so friendly. It was a homely place. Also an onsen we used twice. The room was large and a balcony. You could get fresh air. Can walk to train station. We.got a.lovely surprise when our breakfast was brought to our room. Im not sure why that happened but it topped our delightful stay.

A very helpful staff and a great location. Every day a nice breakfast and we could even do washing there. Onsen downstairs and use of ski equipment for free! Got a free lift to the monkey park 🙂

“Relaxing Stay in a Ryokan with Onsens Close to Snow Monkey Park”

Very spacious fourth floor Japanese-style tatami room. Onsens available in basement. Close to station and local restaurants and bars. Lawson across the road. Excellent breakfast, Chinese style. Owner drove us up in own vehicle to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park.

They have a free ski gear for you to use. Right by the train station
