“Unforgettable location and service.”

The Kulu campground is exceptional, it is a case of “you get what you pay for”. We didn’t eat a single meal in the same location during our 3 night stay, the highlight was proposing to my fiancée via a candle lit dinner on the wharf, breakfasts in the tree house and seeing leopards in the wild. The best thing was the service from the staff led by our guide called Sam. Nothing was a problem, coffees arrived as early as 5am before our morning safari, made my proposal as special as possible and everything in between.

Everything is pure perfection: the staff is super professional and extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The food was amazing and the place, well so beautiful it gave us shivers of happiness. We cannot strongly recommend enough! The rooms are spacious and cozy and you see plenty of wildlife all around you. A kayak tour on the lake is a must! The breakfast in the tree house was so gorgeous, one of the best ever! Thank you so much to the whole team!

Stunning location, and the tent itself was incredibly well appointed with everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. I also cannot speak more highly for all of the staff. The safari was, without a doubt, the highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka and the absolute best way to experience Yala National Park. Our guide, Pramoth, was exceptional—his deep knowledge of the wildlife and his incredible ability to spot all the animals we had hoped to see (and even more!) made the adventure truly special. What set him apart was how he managed to make the experience memorable even after the safari itself, sharing stories and insights that enriched our understanding. A special shoutout to our driver, Chaminda, who was nothing short of a jungle pilot, skillfully navigating the rugged terrain with ease and adding to the thrill. I cannot recommend this experience enough—it’s a must for anyone visiting Sri Lanka!

“Among the best safaris in the world”

My stay at Kulu safari was amazing! The staff are so attentive, a special thanks to Praba…. He made my 2 nights so amazing. The „tents“ (it stretches the reality to call them tents) are so luxurious… fantastic bathrooms Praba made sure that I got my wish to see a leopard. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful. The food was the best that I’d had during my while holiday is Sri Lanka - both local as well as western! I can highly recommend a stay

“Fabulous experience in the jungle”

We were extremely well looked after by Ajith and Pravda and all the staff. Meals in different locations was a special treat with the highlight being breakfast high in a tree house. Very special. We had amazing safaris and saw many animals and birds but the highlight was leopard. We saw one crossing the road twice but then we found a young male sitting in the forest washing his paws and playing with his tail. We were so so lucky and it was amazing to watch him. And we also saw sloth bear and many elephants and so much more. Just great!

The most special 2 days spent at Kulu safaris -if you are ever doing a safari in Yala National Park these are the only guys to go with! Fabulous location next to the park ,amazing game drives with the most gorgeous staff that are so highly trained in wildlife ,best food I've had in Sri Lanka set up at different beautiful settings around the camp site and, fabulous cabins We were treated like one of the family

Unbelievable hospitality!

Kulu Safaris is a completely exceptional place to stay in every way and it was the highlight of our holiday in Sri Lanka. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Our guide, Jeana, was very knowledgeable about Sri Lankan wildlife and a lovely person, we learnt a lot from talking to her on our safaris. We also went kayaking on the lake which was beautiful. The tents are so comfortable to stay in and it's a very peaceful location, surrounded by nature. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and we were served our meals in different locations around the site, which was beautiful and very romantic. It is expensive, but the safari and other activities is included, as well as all food and drink, and so I think it is definitely worth the money, particularly as Kulu is very eco-conscious and ensures minimal disruption to the wildlife. Overall, I couldn't recommend staying at Kulu more highly, and I hope to go back one day.
