“Don´t ever go to this place.”

When we arrived they couldn´t find our booking.com reservation. Luckily I speak spanish and could show them my booking.com app and our reservation for 2 rooms. Otherwise we would not have gotten a place to sleep and we arrived late!!! There place is run down. The pool was dirty and could not be used. The "restaurant" is redicoulus and the food was horrible - we only used it the first night, when we arrived. There are no other restaurants in the town. The place is in the middle of nowhere - don't go there. When we had to leave in the morning, we could not reach any staff. The place seemed deserted so we just had to leave the keys on the table and leave. It is the worst experience ever on a hotel booked through booking.com - and we have had +60 bookings in Europe, Asia, Americas.

Nothing. Lower then basic. No curtains on all windows. Very inconvenient light shining in at night. Closet wihout doors. Everything was hanging loose at the sink. Airco didn’t work. Tv didn’t work. Swimming very dirty and 2lounge bank that were very old and dirty. I didnt dare to enter the pool. There was no light no electricity and you feel quite abandoned in the middle of knowwhere. Also didnt fell safe. There were man who held us stop and asked gor money. They also had machetes. I cant believe that people gave this hoetl a “ok”. For me totally overrated in price. The owner though is helpful but no word English. The made us pay a little too much for a take away lunch for our visit to Calakmul. Overall the owner is out to get money easy on tourists.

Owners were fabulous, despite our v limited Spanish. Rooms were excellent. Pool and restaurant were available whenever needed. Prices for food very reasonable.

The room was spacious and clean. We did not use the pool but it looked good. There were cool swings for the kids. The restaurant was convenient and the food okay.

It is not too far from Calakmul reserve, but not close either. Sweet little town. Hotel/hostel a little on the unkempt side but was fine for three days. Large room, AC and hot water both worked fine. Did not use pool because it was cool. A few interesting birds come through the gardens. The food is adequate while not great. Balthasar, the owner, is a nice guy and tries to serve with cheerfulness. He hooked us up with a good guide for seeing the ruins and birds at Calakmul.

“Great place to explore the area”

We loved staying here, we even extended our stay by one night. The owner is really friendly and helpful, and the general vibe is great. Decent pool and a nice little restaurant with a wide selection. Our room was very big with great shower. I liked the quiet location away from Xpujil, great value for money, and it's a good base to explore the area. If you are looking for a bit of a hike, go to Hormiguero, there are some trails next to the ruins. Also, Becan and Chicana are worth visiting.

The room was big (2 twin beds and one single) and clean. The staff is super helpful. The village is small and very quiet. The hotel is small and serviced by a family

“Nightmare!”

Sole guest in the middle of nowhere, dogs barking, people screaming, jungle noises. Beds in a dusty attic, reception inexistant, cannot close the door. I didnt sleep all night.

Lovely stay in Cabanas y Hostal Zoh Laguna :-) :-) :-) Our room No. 3 upstairs was always breezy. A spacious room with good beds and nice linen. The food was always good. No matter it was breakfast, the lunchbox or anything we ordererd a la carte. Balthazar the owner is an absolutely helpful friendly man! The most friendly owner we met so far here in Mexico. The swimingpool! We both were so happy to have the swimmingpool. The water was fresh. We stayed 4 nights and we did not regret one of our nights there. Josui was the most friendly waiter, too. We will come back for sure if we are in the area again! My daughter fell in love with the big Danish or German dog, she was walking with. Boschde is an exceptional XXL dog. Very friendly, with a soft good character, a pleasure to have around. Only few times you must tight him up at his neckcollar. It's fun to walk with him.
