“Extremely unpleasant checkout – avoid if you're not local”

We stayed at this property for 4 nights with my elderly family. The stay itself was fine, but the checkout experience was extremely stressful and upsetting. Although checkout was officially at 10:00 AM, we informed the host we wanted to leave early at 7:00 AM. He insisted on inspecting the apartment in person. He arrived at 6:55 AM and began pointing out tiny things like water droplets on the shower wall, couple of spots on induction, saying the place wasn’t "sparkling clean." We had actually cleaned thoroughly the night before — mopped, vacuumed, and left everything tidy. We just used shower in morning and made some tea. But he claimed we "didn’t know how to clean" and expected us to wipe down walls and surfaces as if preparing the home for the next guest. I offered to do a bit more cleaning then and there, but he refused, saying he had already come and couldn’t return now. Instead, he aggressively demanded €65 in cash. When I suggested going through Booking.com instead, he raised his voice and blocked our car door, yelling at my wife and elderly parents. It was deeply unsettling. To end the confrontation, we gave him €60 in cash — the only cash we had — just so we could leave. The apartment may have good reviews, but please be cautious if you're not local or traveling with family. This kind of behavior is not acceptable. No guest should be made to feel harassed or intimidated at checkout.
