Very friendly people

Clean, good AC, very kind host and good family meal, would recommend!

Amazing homestay with amazing people! They went above and beyond and made a bouquet of flowers in the morning for my friends birthday! (We didn’t even tell them, they did it after seeing her passport!). Great location near waterfalls and cheap food.

My friends suggested that I have to stay at Thomasha's Home stay and they were right 100%. The hospitality of Thomasha and his wife was incredible and they took good care of me ( they even texted me to find out if I was coming safe back after a safari tour I had). The rooms are beautiful, clean and quite. The room that I stayed , on the first floor, had a double bed and an extra single, fan mosquito met, a/c and a perfec view of the mountain. The garden is big beautiful with three tables one can use with the third on very big. I also had the most delicious rice and curry prepared for me and I coud use the fridge any time! The best part is that Thomash is also a very good guide and took me with his tuk tuk and then up to a beatiful trail, tothe most beautiful Diyaluma falls with a breathtaking view , and got to swim in two of the water ponds! Also he took me for an out of this world experience in the ancist place of Buduruwagala, where is the biggest, in Sri Lanka, statue of Buddha carved on an elephant shaped rock. Also he took me to three girls' house with an open kitchen (and a handmade out of clay, firewood oven) where I had the best hoppers and coconut rotti in a ridiculous cheap price. And all of this , the room, the food, the trips, for a very low price! If you want a taste of life in Sri Lanka you shouldn't miss Thomasha's Home!

“Great host”

The host's English and information was great, I could visit the local waterfall without a guide thanks to his clear information. He also helped me frequently with his tuk tuk.

Very friendly host, a great evening meal and a clean room. Thomasha's place has it all!

The accommodation is equipped with everything you need for a night or two. There is no hot water and the beds are smaller. The room has air conditioning, a large balcony. They also offered us dinner. It was very tasty, just a little too cold. The host is very kind, ready to help with tips for visiting attractions.

We had a great time at Thomasha's Guesthouse. The location is very convenient south of Wellawaya. Easy access from the main road - but far enough from the traffic noise. Thomasha and his wife took care if us. A friendy couple - fluent in Englisch and even speaking some Deutsch. We had booked an evening meal and received a delicious vegetarian rice & curry! The room was not luxurious but big enough with good beds and beautiful sheets. Air conditioning and fan. A clean place. We can really recommend the place with wonderful owners, great food and a proper room.

Room was nice as it was expected. It's value for money. And the guy who is running this homestay also nice and he can speak Hindi as well.

Wellawaya and it's surroundings are really beautiful and off the beaten track, but what really made my stay so good was the warm welcome I received from Thomasha and his family. Thomasha took me to see a nearby Temple and gave me some really useful tips on how to visit Diyaluma waterfalls by bus the next day. He was even so kind to drop me off in the city centre in the evening so I could have a walk around and took me to the bus stop on the day I left. I also had one delicious dinner at the homestay, and had the best pumpkin curry ever! I asked for a bed with a mosquito net and Thomasha accomodated my request. The room was simple but clean, with a nice balcony. I would really recommend this place to all my friends! I booked for one night, but stayed two... And could have stayed longer!

“Private yet looked after”

I loved the quite and privacy at the place and above all I loved the welcoming, availability and courtesy of the host. Even before my arrival Thomasha gave me precious tips on how to get to the place from Weligama. He picked me up and dropped me back at the bus station free of charge and he even bought a kettle for my room as I told him I drink a lot of tea! Everyone was kind

“Simple and beautiful home”

Clean and talks with Tomasha. Tuk tuk ride in the night to find vegetarian food will be a life time memory for me. Its a nice house and good night sleep after a 122 km bicycle ride, it was a big relief at Tomasha’s place

Nice homestay. The owner Thomasha is very friendly and open person and he does the best to make you comfortable. We visited his place with 3 kids and he took us to the Diyaluma waterfall in a comfortable car from his brother. The upper part of the waterfall has many small waterfalls and ponds to swim in. Very nice scenery and we all had a great time in the water. We could spend as much time as we liked. For dinner we had several curry dishes in his house and tasted very nice.
