The owner was super nice, always there to help us in any way possible. The food was delicious and the portions generous. The bed was so comfortable, slept like a baby. The location is quiet and calming. The beach and restaurants are a few walking minutes away. Would return anytime!

Everything! Very comfortable, clean room and facilities, refrigerator and kettle in the room. Also a very nice spacious common area on the ground floor with a beautiful view of the river. Such a peaceful and quiet location, that you can have a great sleep and chill. A major highlight for me (and a big surprise) was the internet connection!! Wi-fi was very fast and reliable - what is very difficult to find in Weligama, it was perfect if you need to work remotely, and even better than in coworking areas I’ve been here. And special thanks to Babi – she was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. She truly made me feel welcome and cared for here!

This accommodation was very clean and very comfortable. The bed, pillows and towels were super comfortable. The room and entire property is perfectly clean and tidy. Fan, air con, mosquito net, hot shower, mini fridge all in perfect order. And Babi the manager / owner was lovely - always smiling and beaming with positive joy. The location by the river is lovely and quiet.

The Tinara River Inn was our best accommodation in Sri Lanka so far. It was very comfortable, spacious and clean and our host was the kindest and sweetest person, always helpful and available if we had questions. The location was near the beach as well as the centre but still quiet, with a nice view of the river from our room and the breakfast location. The breakfast was very tasty, with big portions that got the two of us through the entire day until the evening and there were different types of food almost every day. We were so happy here that we stayed two nights longer than originally planned.

“Quiet and nice place near the river, with great host”

Really nice quite place, close to the river and close to the beach. Great for staying for long time (in total we stayed for 2 weeks, for surfing, chilling and working remotely). Comfortable bed and room with a balcony, a lot of plants which I totally loved, and beautiful scenary - loved sunsets from the roof! 😍 I would like to separately note that the hostess was very friendly, caring and helped with all questions very quickly 🙏🏻

Lovely staff. Room had a good view of the river. Nice breakfast, very generous portion. Had air con and a hot shower. Easy to walk to the beach from the hotel. WiFi was good

We had booked originally for 1 day but extended with 4 nights as this place was a great base to go surfing in Weligama. The location is very peaceful and quiet next to the river and it is only an 8-10 min walk to the beach. The host was amazing and did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. She prepared lovely breakfast every morning and cooked for us delicious curries for dinner. We definitely recommend staying here.

Very nice rooms, beautiful location and super welcoming and friendly hosts. The breakfast was affordable and delicious. Would very happily stay here again over anywhere else in Weligama.

“Dream Place!!”

Mrs Babi is the most amazing host we have ever had!! She will gladly help you with anything!! We‘ve had many bad experiences with hotels in Sri Lanka and this was by far the best! Everything clean and nice! Especially it‘s a quiet oasis in noisy Weligama but still in walking distance to everything, if you don‘t mind short 5-10min walks! If not just rent a scooter next door (2000 LKR a day) from Pelli Riverine super practical! The terrace was also amazing to sit and relax on with the riverview room!

Very clean, very spacious and the host is so incredibly nice. It is very quiet and the rooms are very spacious and clean. We stayed 2 weeks and our room was even cleaned every couple of days. We are sad to leave.

“Perfect location / Everything perfectly clean / the best choice !!!!”

The hotel was more than wonderful. I recommend it 100% !! My friends and I stayed in Sri Lanka in 6 different hotels, some of which were 5 stars. The Tinara Inn River Hotel was the best by far. Most importantly though, it was spotless, everything was perfectly clean from the outdoors areas to the rooms, which was quite difficult with our stays in Sri Lanka. Mrs Babi is very helpful, she makes you feel that she is hosting you in her home. She did everything to make us feel good, from the first minute we stepped foot in her hotel. In addition, it is in a perfect location!! You don't need tuk tuk to go to the beach because it's only a 5 minute walk. It is also , 3 minutes from the main street with the most famous breakfast and brunch coffee shops. Mrs Babi also helped us when we needed tuk tuk as well as a shuttle for our transfer to the airport! Mrs Babi thank you for the amazing hospitality 🙏 We will miss you !! ❤️

“Beautiful Inn with the sweetest host!”

First of all, the host was amazing! She is super kind and helpful. She does almost everything herself and makes the most delicious breakfast. Room is spacious and comfortable, with a nice balcony. The hotel is also perfectly located, super close to the town, but just far away enough for it to be quiet. Thank you for the great care! I would recommend this beautiful Inn to everybody! :)
