Very lovely basic accomodation. Raymond was very helpful (organising taxis, laundry etc). Great value for money. Short walk along the beach into the main part of town.

“Perfect stay near the beach”

A very well located place away from the main part of weligama but only a ten minute walk away. Right on the beach through a secluded jungle style area and with a bus stop nearby. The property itself is great, with air conditioning and all facilities - Raymond always goes out of his way to make my stay here amazing, with this being the second time I have stayed here for over two months. When I got sick, he made me homemade soup and brought me fresh fruit, when my bicycle had a flat tyre he immediately pumped it up. He also arranged my taxi to the airport at a very good price :)

REDSTAR is located away from the busiest part of town (still within walking distance) so it's great for anyone looking to avoid the crowds. It's also on the beach side of the busy road so you don't have to cross the road to access the beach which was a 2-min walk. Raymond was responsive and helpful. The rooms have A/C and mosquito nets. This is probably one of the cheapest options you'll find for the proximity to the beach. Also great WiFi connection.

Very very very good and the best wifi in Sri Lanka ever, 500+ mbps, also owner has one more wifi from different provider just in case. So very stable. Room big, there is a good table, very good shower. Very good owner. Good location with very good local food nerby.

Raymonds place was clean, has an amazing aircon and was in the perfect location - 30 seconds from the beach and less than a 10 minute walk into town. Raymond was the best host I’ve had using booking.com. He was super friendly, always keen to help out where he could - he even dropped me off at the train station when I left. If you’re in Weligama this is where you should book, I’ll definitely be back.

“Stop looking and book this”

As we were checking out we (literally) asked each other why everyone else in Weligama wasn't staying here. Perfect, quiet, out of the hustle but still an easy walk to board rental, coffee, food etc. etc. Walk to the beach in no time at all. Three minutes from 'after surf' rooftop cafe. The best and cheapest food in Weligama right next door (food paradise). Parking available, AC very cold, tons is space for drying wet things. Just all round 100% the perfect surfing pad!!

Best value room in this location just a skip from the beach, big, clean, with extra bed for comfort and a great ac! Raymond is an awesome host with amazing cooking skills. Breakfast with avocado smoothie, eggs and toast. Sri Lankan launch and dinner with fresh fish that Raymond got just for us! Highly recommend! We will come back again.

“Perfect location and amazing host for incredible value”

The location is ideal - right by the beach and close to the business of Weligama while being far enough away to avoid the noise. There is a bus stop nearby which is really handy for travel to nearby towns. Raymond and the others could not have been more helpful - they cooked me a lovely breakfast every morning which was perfect after a surf, I stayed here long-term and they cleaned my room and changed my sheets whenever I asked, one night when there was a huge rain and thunderstorm Raymond kindly cooked me dinner so that I didn't have to leave the property. They were always on hand to help with any queries. The bed was massive, the air con was perfect and there was a fan too, the shower was great with perfect water pressure. Such a lovely place for an amazing price!

Good value for the money. We chose the place for the location which is close to surf scene on Weligama beach and away from busy part. Host was very kind and helpful, he waited for us for a midnight check-in and did not hesitate to answer any question we had. The room was very clean and had the A/C.
