Wonderful quirky historic farm stay

We loved the location, meeting Peter and hearing stories about the history of the house, the bulls, sheep and chicken. All a bit quirky and all the better for it. Our girls loved feeding the sheep. A basic help-yourself but perfectly good breakfast provided. Our bedrooms in the Goldminers Cabin annex were cosy and comfortable. Bathroom was spotless.

Comfortable & special

Incredible place. Totally exceeded our expectations. Peter & his partner Kako went way past what is expected as a host to make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The accomodation is gorgeously renovated and all facilities were clean and worked perfectly. The location is magical, surrounded by peaceful farmland and birdsong, with snowcapped mountains on the horizon. The hosts are wonderful, welcoming and warm people. We appreciated the little touches like the heater being on in both our rooms prior to our arrival, soaps & shampoo laid out on the towels on our beds, the comfiest bed ever, delicious fresh bread in the morning and Peter allowing us to feed his enthusiastic sheep. Thank you.

Charm and character.

A wonderful historic home (with modern conveniences) in a rural setting. ‘Beanbag’ the giant sheep is a charmer.

We cycled out to the Farm.... wondered where we were going...down dirt road... down farm track. Farmhouse looks very old at a distance ... and it is! But clean as ..peaceful.. historic features abound... a step back in time. Peter is warm and gracious host. Lent us a car to get back to Waipiate Hotel for evening meal which was busy with locals and cyclists. Good value and good quality.
