I do travel a lot and can say when the service is good or bad however this hotel has one of the best trained staff. Absolute top. This will be my main reason to return in very near future.

“A luxurious escape from the daily grind”

The hotel is situated on the shore of a lake - very pleasant for a 45 min stroll around the perimeter. It was too misty to see the lake from our room on the first two days but once the weather improved it was a lovely view. The room was spacious and elegant and very comfortable. The staff were generally lovely and they make you feel very welcome. The Concierge was super-helpful, guiding us to some excellent days out, including a memorable cable car trip to the top of Lomnický Štít in the Tatra mountains. We really liked the lobby bar and enjoyed some relaxing hours there eating and drinking. The hotel’s restaurant serves delicious food, if you like fine dining, and the breakfasts were very good. The hotel’s manager is very friendly and helpful.

A Complete Disaster – This “5-Star” Hotel Should Be Downgraded Immediately! If there is one review you read before booking this hotel, let it be this one. I wish someone had warned me before I wasted my money and my holiday here. This was, without exaggeration, one of the most uncomfortable, overpriced, and misleading hotel experiences I have ever had. NO AIR CONDITIONING in a 5-star hotel. Yes, you read that right. Instead, they gave us a cheap fan while the room stayed unbearably hot. My son and I had to sleep sweating the entire night, which left me feeling unwell and exhausted. The room was crawling with insects. I was disgusted and on edge the entire time. No amount of “housekeeping” can justify this in what they claim to be a luxury property. Food? Overpriced and inedible. The chicken soup was revolting – one spoon was enough to put me off. For children, the only option was a bland burger. This is simply unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one charging luxury prices. Service? Cold and unfriendly. The staff acted like they were doing me a favor just by speaking to me. Smiles are free – but here, apparently, they cost too much. The spa manager’s behavior was shockingly rude. She kicked me out of the gym at 10 PM, saying it was closed. In almost every real 5-star hotel I’ve stayed at, the gym is open 24/7 – especially important for mothers who can only work out once their kids are asleep. The spa “experience” was a joke. I brought my son to play while I relaxed, but every single chair was “reserved” with towels – no effort to accommodate us. Room amenities? Pathetic. No coffee machine – just a kettle and instant coffee sachets. This is something you’d expect in a cheap roadside inn, not in a hotel charging hundreds of euros a night. Breakfast was an embarrassment. No waffles – something even budget hotels provide.

This was undoubtedly the best stay we've ever had (and we travel a lot). Beautiful hotel with fairytale atmosphere, clean, nice and comfy rooms. The staff here is excellent and professional, they met all our (well my, as I have food allergies) needs when dining and for breakfasts. Spa was exceptional and a great massage helped me to recharge and de-stress. I cannot wait to return here. Thank you very much! :)

“Exceptional Experience at Kempinski Hotel, Tatra Mountains”

Our stay at Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The staff took care of parking our car and even made sure our electric vehicle was charged, which was a thoughtful touch. While we settled in, we were welcomed with a glass of Kempinski sparkling wine, a perfect way to begin our stay. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was incredibly inviting, with a lovely scent that added to the overall experience. The level of service was outstanding – every staff member was professional, attentive, and genuinely focused on making our stay as enjoyable as possible. When we were escorted to our room, we were pleasantly surprised to find a personal letter from the General Manager, which made us feel truly valued. The room itself was gorgeous, with beautiful wooden furnishings that gave it a luxurious feel. The quality of everything – from the furniture to the bedding – was top-notch, and we couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable stay. We also had the pleasure of dining at the hotel restaurant, where I especially appreciated that the staff asked about any food allergies or intolerances upfront. As someone who can’t have lactose, this attention to detail was much appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious. The wellness area was incredible, offering stunning views of the lake and mountains. With saunas, a pool, a hot tub, and exceptionally comfortable lounge chairs, it was the perfect place to unwind. They even offered drinks and snacks in the spa, which was a thoughtful bonus. In the evenings, the lobby bar, with its large fireplace, created the perfect atmosphere to relax. The reception staff were also incredibly accommodating, allowing us to enjoy a later checkout, which made our departure much more relaxed. All in all, this wasn’t just a stay – it was an unforgettable experience. I would rate the Kempinski Hotel Tatra Mountains a solid 10/10 and highly recommend it.
