“Great for families”
It was a very family-friendly hotel, with lots to do with kids and a dog park for our furry friend. It's a place that is great for traveling families or having a quick getaway.

“Disappointing Hotel for Amount Paid”
Restuarant was conveient and food tasty. Dinner service was good, First breakfast service good but second breakfast service was lacking. The server preferred to stay with other servers and chat rather than to pay attention to her customer. We ordered a cup of tea and it took way too long before it was served. Our meal was complete and we had to ask another server to find ours so we could receive our check and leave her a tip.

The carpet in the room was dirty. Visibly even with my eye sight. It had been vacuumed but the carpet itself was dirty. It needs to be shampooed. I didn’t like the two young ladies watching a movie on their phone at the front desk and when I walked up, it was as though I was a bother. The world of hospitality has fallen off horribly around the world and due this is the time for your staff to shine. One of the young ladies did make an attempt to recover and inquire if my stay was good. The heavier young lady never changed her attitude.

“Solid place for a short stay, but in my opinion, not a good value for the money”
Stunning grounds. I stayed here while visiting a friend nearby. I used the space mainly to do work during the day and visit my friend in the evenings. The room was clean and well-appointed. On my last day, I got a small coffee and breakfast in the restaurant and the waitress serving the tables was just the sweetest. Her kindness was the highlight of my stay.

“Charming, comfortable hotel - we will be back!”
We stayed here for the third time, and it won't be our last. The grounds are gorgeous (it is a popular wedding location for good reason), the rooms are very comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the amenities are enjoyable (indoor and outdoor pools, fitness studio, spa). Free parking and a good location between Virginia Beach and Norfolk make day excursions uncomplicated and convenient. I can't understand the negative reviews. Perhaps people see the name 'Hilton' behind the hotel and have absurd expectations. No, it isn't perfect, but let's say 90% and at a price that you can't argue with.
