Nestled in the heart of Norway, my partner and I stumbled upon a charming B&B that turned out to be an unexpected delight during our recent vacation. With our original plans washed away by unexpected flooding at our intended destination, we hastily booked a stay at this cozy establishment, and boy, were we in for a pleasant surprise. Our arrival was met with genuine warmth from the owners. Despite our unpreparedness for this impromptu adventure, they made us feel right at home. Their personal touch set the tone for the rest of our stay. This authentic Norwegian B&B, surrounded by the country's stunning landscape, provided an ambiance that felt like a step back in time. It's clear that the owners have taken great care to preserve the traditional Norwegian charm, making our stay feel all the more special. What truly stood out was the personal attention we received throughout our visit. The owners went out of their way to ensure our comfort, and their genuine care added a comforting touch to our stay. The B&B's intimate atmosphere was a reflection of the hosts' warmth and friendliness, which made the experience feel more like visiting old friends than staying in a typical accommodation. While we didn't get the chance to witness the owner's singing talents firsthand, we did discover a piano. It was said that if anyone had the skill to play, the owner would happily serenade us with her melodic voice. Though we lacked the musical prowess to partake, the idea added a unique and charming dimension to our stay.

“Loved it. Didn’t want to leave”

Helga and mark were the best. Really welcoming. The room felt luxurious. Even the towels were fantastic. We had pizza in the bar restaurants which was lovely and chatted with mark. The building is fabulous. A must stay

“Quiet stay in a traditional property”

Lovely quiet area, the hotel is a old converted large farmhouse and the rooms are in the style of "Escape to the Chateau". Parking was safe for my bike, next to the main through road. Owner husband was very friendly.

“The Hotel from Hell”

There was nothing to like about this place, which is by far the worst of any accommodation booked with Booking.com We strongly recommend that it be deleted from your listings for this area. This place makes Fawlty Towers look like a 5 star hotel !

“Lovely house and area, worth to stay here for long”

Absolutely everything here is worth the trip to this beautiful area and hotel. The bedrooms are cosy but elegant at the same time, the building is really old but renovated, and it has a great charm. In the second building they have a beautiful restaurant and bar, where we had a lovely conversation with other guests. They are building a lounge area and shop for local products in the ground floor of the second building. The area is stunningly beautiful, with so many things to do. We only stated one night and could only do a little hike up to the lakes close to the house, but there are many different opportunities. And last but not least, the owner is the nicest person. She took care of us from the very first second and made us feel at home.

“Cozy rehabilitated farm”

The history behind the farm and the amazing job they are doing by rehabilitating it. Just in front of the fjord, cozy farm owned by a 7th generation, and reconverted on a bed&breakfast and a restaurant. It is amazingly fun to ask them about the history of the farm as the owner actually lived there as a farm.

The room was well refurbished, but have kept it’s historical tradition. Wonderful hosts. Great breakfast and dinner. Excellent starting point for mountain hikes.

“You can really relax here”

Helga and Mark are the most welcoming hosts! It’s like visiting a family – they definitely won’t let you go to bed hungry. The food was amazing – fresh local products at its best. Helgas curry herring made after secret family recipe is to die for! The room was lovely – it was spacious but cosy, the wi-fi worked very well and there were enough sockets to charge your phone, computer, etc. There is an electric kettle in the room and the guests have also access to a simple kitchen/sitting room with a TV and a balcony. There is also plenty of space outside, where you can sit and enjoy the fjord view.
