Overview
This hotel is located near the Meuse Valley and the Ardennes Forest. The town of Charleville Meziéres is the birthplace of Arthur Rimbaud and the puppet capital of the world. The hotel has 68 spacious rooms, 23 of which are non-smoking and 2 which have been adapted for people with disabilities. All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with clean, private bathrooms and flat screen satellite TV. A buffet breakfast composed of sweet and savoury dishes such as eggs, fruit salad, yogurts and juices is served every day. Pastries baked on site and fresh French Madeleine cakes are also on offer, as well as a hot beverage and a piece of fruit to take away. Outside of regular breakfast hours guests can also enjoy a lighter option, available from 04:00. The hotel restaurant, Le Dalang, is air-conditioned and serves traditional and regional French cuisine in a pleasant dining area. The hotel bar, Le Trappiste, offers a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a cocktail.

“Very clean and quiet. Helpful receptionists. Well equipped for the handicapped;”
As my husband has limited mobility, we asked for a room for the handicapped. The room was on the ground floor, close to the reception. The bathroom was spacious so that my husband had no problem entering in the bathroom in a wheelchair. It is equipped with a 'douche Italian' with a seat installed on the wall. All in all, we felt very safe. When I noticed that there were the stairs leading to the breakfast room, the receptionist immediately gave us a choice of a ramp so that the wheelchair can go up/down the stairs or take the breakfast into the room. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful.

Staff were excellent - especially Mariuoelle (?), who was exceptionally helpful. She phoned us on our way home, to check things were okay. Breakfast service was very efficient, too.

It was easy to locate for our purpose which was to visit the Cabaret Vert festival. And it was not too expensive. It is quiet and you can sit outside for breakfast or a drink. Nice friendly staff as well.

“Not luxurious, but an excellent base for visiting Charleville and its surroundings”
Decent hotel situated in a suburb of Charleville-Mézières. The room was pretty basic and reminded me of a youth hostel, but it was clean and cozy, had the basic amenities and I had booked very short-term for the Cabaret Vert Festival anyway, so I was grateful for the accomodation and didn't spend a lot of time in the room apart from sleeping. The personnel is very friendly and helpful, the premises are nice and quiet and there's parking space aplenty. A bus stop is only a short 5 minute walk away.
