“Absolutely beautiful nature stay in a cozy cabin”

I got the second cabin a short walk from reception surrounded by nature and the river close by. It was such a beautiful setting and I thoroughly enjoyed my time relaxing in the hammock, walks and able to cook for myself allowed me to enjoy my time in nature. The cabin was well equipped and so cozy … loved it!

“Loved our cabin in the woods”

We loved our cabin in the woods! It was really relaxing and not the kind of place you stay every day. We also liked the small touches like having your own BBQ area (albeit we didn't actually get round to using it), and the artisan coffee, granola and marmalade that are in the cabins that you can purchase. Alicia was also a very good host, helping us understand how to get our onward bus after our stay and more generally just chatting with us about the eco lodge and the coffee making progress etc.

“Charming stay in a nature reserve”

A charming treehouse-style cabin in the Rumi-Wilco private reserve, an easy 10 minute walk from the town centre. Very well equipped and comfortable. Alicia was a wonderful host - friendly, helpful and full of knowledge about the local ecology.

The cabin is in an amazing location in the forest next to the river. The river is perfect for playing and swimming in all day, and the cabin is dark at night and has everything you need during the day.

If you want serenity, this is the place. Owner passionate, very well informed, great conversationalist, perfect English. Amazing setting. A most interesting town.

“Perfect place to both rest and explore!”

We loved Rumi Wilco. The whole project is done with a lot of attention and care. You can sense the love that Alicia and Orlando have for their land and the project in the details. There is small letter signs with the names of the plants of the area, all the paths are well cleared from herbs and plants, there is cute designated bathing spots that connect the path with the river that goes along the whole terrain. In the room itself you will find a simple but very careful environment made of wood entirely. The wood is from local forests, it is all very precise. In the kitchen each cup has a hook to hang from. It has the precision of a camping gear, or the sensibility of a father that loves to build. Everything was very clean, there is hot water for the shower, there is hooks to scroll, there is a map to visit the reserve, there is recommendations on how to heal somethings with local herbs. There is also a small selection of things that are made by them. Locally grown, dried and grinded coffee. Some jams with fruits from their land. Around the cabins there is grass to allow for camping. This also allows for star gazing. The area has lots of butterflies. Is a perfect place to stay for a long time, to enjoy the cabin and the reserve. To mix both resting and active visits.

The beautiful cabin was well-equipped and a welcome haven away from traffic and crowds. The staff were fantastic. It’s always great having a river right outside for a morning dip.

Very nice contact to Alicia. Acc. is in nature reserve with hiking possibilities and only 10min walking to the center of Vilcabamba. River closeby to jump in. Nice basic room and shared kitchen and terrace. Hammock to chillout. It's a quiet place with only nature sound.

As always worth a visit! :) this place is beautifully nestled into a lush and abundant reserve with hiking paths. Alicia, the owner is such a lovely spirit, very considerate and welcoming, and also sharing about biology and her research. Thanks you again for a beautiful and relaxing stay.

Alicia, one of the owners, is a fabulous host. The nature reserve is beautiful and enchanting. An immersive experience perfect for those who love nature. Staying there also supports their noble cause of preserving the natrual habitat.

Lush green and abundant surroundings, quiet enough at night and with beautiful hiking trails starting right next to the rooms. Also I think it's worth talking a bit more with the hosts, who have a lot of knowledge about the place and land. I would have loved to have heard more, but maybe another time. :) Thank you Alicia, we enjoyed our stay so much!
