My stay at Vichy Célestins Spa Thermal & Hôtel was mixed, but unfortunately the spa experience was so disappointing that it overshadowed the positives. The room was comfortable and generally met expectations, although my partner found the mattress too soft. Beyond that, I have no major criticism of the accommodation itself. My main concern is the spa and, in particular, the massage treatment. I booked and paid €145 for a 50-minute full-body sports massage. Before the treatment began, I explained that I had received many sports massages in the past and specifically requested attention to the upper right side of my back and cervical area. What I received did not resemble a sports massage. In fact, having also experienced many traditional relaxation massages, I would not consider this a proper massage either. The pressure was extremely light throughout the session, to the point where I could barely feel the therapist's hands on my body. A large amount of oil was used, and much of the treatment consisted of very light strokes and tapping movements rather than meaningful muscle work. There was no deep tissue work, no treatment of tension points, and no focus on the areas I had specifically requested. I left feeling exactly the same as when I arrived, with none of the relief or therapeutic benefit that one would expect from either a sports massage or a standard relaxation massage. The issue is not that the massage failed to be exceptional. My expectation was simply to receive a professional full-body sports massage corresponding to the service that was advertised and booked. The price of €145 for 50 minutes is significantly higher than many massages I have received elsewhere, including in Switzerland. However, my criticism is not based on the price itself. I accepted the higher price because the treatment was offered by a 5-star spa hotel and I therefore expected a corresponding level of professionalism and quality.

Very friendly staff, always eye contact and smiling Breakfast has broad choice (buffet) and you can order good coffee, the hotel restaurant has a lovely garden which is adjacent to a wonderful park next to a river. Great if you have a dog.

Two days of pure joy at Vichy Célestins! Swimming in the thermal pools is absolute bliss. Highly recommend.

The hotel offers very spacious and well-equipped rooms, and the bathroom was also impressively large. The breakfast was excellent — rich, varied, and a perfect start to the day. We enjoyed walking out of the hotel and enter the big and beautiful parks in only 2 steps!

We stayed one night but we were not able to visit the spa because we arrived late on the day of check in and we were not allowed to visit the spa on the day we checked out.

Many of the staff, waiters, front desk, and housekeeping, were not only helpful but pleasant and kind. The location was convenient to parks, shops, and restaurants and the view of the park from our window and the hotel restaurants was beautiful. Our room was large and comfortable.

The bedding was incredibly comfortable, the room was cleaned and somewhat elegant despite being slightly dated. I was not expecting such a large bathtub in the room, which was a great surprise! Special mention to the floor lamps / desk lamps, we adored their design and would buy them if we could.
