The hotel is on the outskirts of Verdun, adjacent to a commercial area with supermarkets and home shops. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The set buffet dinner in the hotel was very good value with large quantities of reasonable quality food, including a nice cheeseboard and dessert. Breakfast had a good range of foods. The breakfast room overlooks the pleasant adjacent hilly countryside.

The location was ideal. It was located in a commercial area near some shops. The room was OK but did smell of smoke on arrival. The staff were friendly and lent us a hairdryer. All the facilities worked. However to use the wi-fi, we had to go into the communal areas. The car park was able to accommodate our car.

“Lire la notice”
We liked very little, but this was not entirely the fault of the hotel. The problem lies in the inaccuracy of the description presented by Booking.com. To start with, the property is described as a restaurant: there is no restaurant. There is no indication that the property is situated on an industrial estate; and does not live up to its quite attractive photographs. The rooms were cold and boasted the bare minimum of amenities. We were looking for a place to relax and recover from several hundred kilometres of motorway and to prepare for several hundred more today. We needed warmth, comfort and a decent meal. None of these was forthcoming at this property. Accepting that we made the booking and the prepayment in good faith, we returned our keys, took our luggage and went elsewhere: the Jardins du Mess.

A rather rundown hotel but as it was rated 2 star that was OK. Good carpark. The dinner offering by buffet was OK for the price. The bed was comfortable.

“Simple but good overnight stay”
Basic hotel on the outskirts of town. Good value, on site parking, ideal for overnight when touring. Buffet dinner and breakfast was ok. For the price it did the job.

The staff were very unprofessional They failed to leave the keys for us, we drove 4hr and waited for another 1 hour outside just to drive back without getting into the room
