“Worderful trip”

Loved the location, peaceful and the room was lovely with a wonderful view.The young lady who checked us in was extremely helpful with ferry timetables and things to do. The walk around the batteries was lovely too. The food was Delicious

Absolutely loved the place! It's very charming with its old-fashioned style. Beautiful view towards the water from the garden. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food, I don't know what kind of magic they do in the kitchen. It was not some fancy fine dining, but everything we had was beyond expectations! Great bonus with a guided tour around Fredriksborg castle.

“Wonderful stay”

Wonderful peaceful location with views to the sea and opposite fortress. Big cruise ships passing two times a day. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast with hot and cold options. Beautiful room with bathrobes. Also dinner in the orangerie was nice.

Exceptionnal stay. The place is very relaxing, beautiful and full of history. Rooms are very cute. Direct access to the sea. The staff is very kind and helpful. It’s not that complicated to access there without a car, thanks to ferry or bus. Highly recommended!

“Relax and enjoy the views”

Great, leisurely breakfast which we had outdoors in the good weather, several lovely seating areas and deck, views, quiet, good sized room. Thursday night barbecue was a nice surprise.

“Summer bliss”

The peaceful setting was a bliss and great opportunity to recover from the stress at work. The surroundings are simply gorgeous and the sunset is amazing. The maintenance of the premises is good, in keeping with its history. Our dinners in the orangerie were wonderful, with the view of the forest, sea and the fortress on the opposite island. The staff was extremely helpful, and the guided tour of the fortress was provided in English and still very informative.

Beautiful view to Oxdjupet with ferries passing by. Old, charming building and the fortress. Nice ambiance and pretty rooms.

Excellent staff, food and location

Fantastic location and excellent service! We stayed in the small double with patio in the outbuilding and it was beautifully decorated with a great bathroom, also great terrace in front to enjoy the view and the passing cruise ships. We used the bikes to explore the island and they were in great condition. Good dinner and breakfast with lots of choice. The staff were super nice and helpful. The hotel owner gave us a tour of the fort in the morning and it was super interesting to hear all the history of the area. For info, we came from Stockholm Stromkajen pier with the ferry to Rindo Grenadjärbryggan and then it's a 10mns walk to the yellow ferry at Rindo - Stenslatten/Varmdo(that departs every 15/20mns) to Varmdo and then another 10mns walk to Fredriksborg on a nice quiet road where we actually saw lots of deers. Great ferry journey as you get to see a lot of other islands on the archipelago and you can also hop on/off if the ferry timetables allows you to. You just touch your card when you get in the boat (£6.70) but check the timetable carefully on googlemaps. Would definitely recommend staying there and wish we had had more time!

A magical place. A direct view of the sea, with ships passing literally right next to you. Very friendly and courteous staff, delicious food, and spotlessly clean rooms. Whatever I write, it still won’t be enough to capture how special this place truly is. I can’t wait to come back here — and stay longer next time.

The service was excellent, the food and the atmosphere are unique.it's a shame that you couldn't visit the castle. More information about the season for visiting the castle would be needed, but if you want to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it's a wonderful place

“A lovely hotel & staff who did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable, comfortable.”

The breakfast was super - and being able to eat on the tables in the garden -looking out at the sea/sound was really special. The access to using their bicycles and being able to cycle to the ferry and then to the other islands (Vaxholm) was really great. The staff were so kind and accommodating - organising us on the bicycles, suggesting day excursions, booking kayaking for us. I took two teenagers - who are not the usual age profile of guests for the hotel - but they really made them feel welcome.

“Water views and good food”

A quiet location, but accessible by bus or ferry from Stockholm. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We went on their free fortress tour, and they gave us a lift to the ferry. There are lots of lovely places to admire the views, including the cruise ships going by.
