“Great stay in Vaison La Romaine”

Maison d'Hotes de'l Eveche is really great renovated charming old house and me and my wife enjoyed staying there (especially because we both like such style of houses). The apartment is situated in old part of town which is also special experience. The aparatment has everything you need, it's big enough (Ok, maybe the bathroom could be a little bigger, but it's interesting solution how and where is placed), but really special and wonderful are common rooms with all chandeliers and books. The owners are both very nice and friendly, always ready to help. And they serve very great breakfasts on the terrace with great view to the lower city. Super experience!

This BnB is located in the medieval upper village of Vaison de Romaine. It's a bit tricky to find, especially if you're coming with a car. You cannot park at the hotel and should try to find a spot on Chemin des boix Communaux or Rue Prom du Consuls, to the south and down the hill somewhat. When I arrived the hosts were very gracious, allowing to me drop off my bags even though it was before check in time, and even helping to ensure I was parked legally. Overall the stay was very pleasant in a very quiet, ancient inn. The hosts, Aude and Jean-Lupe were charming and helpful throughout my staying, including letting me use a fridge to store a few travel items, and providing a storage place for my rented e-bike. Breakfast was simple but plentiful, and located on a quiet patio outside. The only reason I would recommend against staying there is if you aren't good with stairs. There are a lot of them to negotiate, depending on exactly where your room is and whether you need to get access to the shared fridge or the courtyard at the bottom, and as expected in an old buidling like this, the are not very even. Side rails are provided, so they're perfectly safe, but you do have to watch your step. I would highly recommend this place, and will definitely book again if I return to the area.
