“Disappointing stay – not what was advertised”
We chose Gościniec Uniejów expecting a comfortable 3-star experience, but unfortunately the reality fell well short. Although the hotel is advertised as 3-star, we were informed at reception that only the newer wing – at a higher price – actually meets that standard. This was quite misleading and set the tone for the stay. The room quality was poor. The bathroom had visible damage, including broken elements in the bath, and the shower was old and clearly in a worn, dilapidated condition. There was also no mini fridge in the room – instead, guests are expected to use a shared fridge in the corridor, with instructions to label their items, which felt rather inconvenient. The restaurant was another let-down. The food was very basic and lacked flavour, and breakfast was similarly underwhelming with limited variety and quality. The “spa” area was acceptable at best, but again suffered from maintenance issues – including a broken shower. Perhaps the most unpleasant aspect of the stay was the strong smell of food from the kitchen, which permeated the entire hotel – from the reception area to the dining room and even the upper-floor corridors. Overall, the hotel feels poorly maintained and does not justify its advertised standard or pricing. We would not choose to stay here again.
