“Charming, quirky hotel but in need of tlc.”

We chose the hotel specifically because of the Owl and the Pussycat concept. We loved the charming quirkiness of the decor and the beautiful drawing room which was a quiet haven cooled with fans and the breeze from the sea. Others have complained it doesn’t really have a beach, which is true, but it has a private access on to a strip of sand and it is only a 2 minute walk from there to the Mihiripenna beach. The staff were absolutely lovely and exceptionally helpful.

This was my splurge week after backpacking around the south and hill country with a friend. I wanted somewhere I could unwind with a few books and cook a few of my own meals. I had very comfortable apartment on the ground floor. The setting is beautiful with gorgeous views and lovely friendly staff.

we had the largest apartment which was beautifully decorated. lots of space and terrace overlooking ocean and pool. loved the swing on the terrace. breakfast was good

“Nice hotel but it needs a general update”

The sea view from our room was very good, so was our terrasse. Rooms had good decorations with nice colors and cleaning in rooms were absolutely ok.

The hotel is set in an idyllic location, right next to the sea, a short walk to a basically private beach. The staff were incredibly friendly and always on hand to help.

Enormous room (definitely choose the biggest rooms if possible) in a charming hotel. Pleasant pool; small bar and restaurant.

Wonderful sea front location, secluded pool and gardens and steps down to the sea. Great staff and food.

“Beautiful boutique stay by the sea”

My mother and I stayed at the Owl & The Pussycat for three nights and were totally blown away by this hotel. It is absolutely beautiful - the decor of the whole place is stunning and is probably the nicest boutique hotel we have ever stayed in. The location is superb - right on the coast and you wake up to the sound of the waves every morning. The rooms are so quaintly decorated and the beds are enormous! We stayed in one room for our first night but were very kindly moved to a sea view room by the manager for the other two nights. It was a lovely surprise as we didn’t request this! It really felt that the staff here went above and beyond for us. Every staff member working here was so helpful, friendly and warm. Breakfast at the hotel was lovely - a little limited but we never mind this. We had lunch one day and dinner another and both times food and drink was delicious. My mother had an early morning flight and the management made her a packed breakfast/ lunch which was a really lovely touch. I honestly couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. It was a very special place to spend the last few days of our trip together and we would love to come back one day.

The breakfast was very good. There was fresh fruit and bread every day along with some curd and cereal and seeds. You could then order of the menu eggs anyway. There was avocado on the menu but not every day was It available. There were also pancakes that were very good! The home made marmalade was a favourite also. The hotel was in a great location and could easily access other attraction by Tuk Tuk which were very reasonable and easily accessible outside the hotel. The beaches were beautiful and there was a lovely walk (a little rocky ) all the way to turtle beach passing frog rock on the way.. Mirissa beach was around 30 mins in a Tuk Tuk and is definitely worth a visit and Coconut island is a Must for the views. We went whale watching but sadly didn’t see any Whales but did see lots of dolphins which was lovely
