Overview
This hostel is across the street from Umeå Central Station, 100 metres from Norrland Opera House. Guests have access to free WIFI, multiple well-equipped kitchens, a laundry room, common living room as well as a bicycle storage room. The rooms at Norrland YMCA Hostel Umeå are decorated in a Nordic design. They are furnished with beds, TVs and desks. Shower facilities are shared, while each room has its own washbasin. Bed linen, towels and cleaning are included. A buffet breakfast is included and available each morning. A grocery store is located 150 metres from the hostel. Shopping streets, restaurants and a bathhouse are within walking distance from the Hostel. Umeå University and Norrland University Hospital are within 2.5 km.

“It is closer to a hotel than a hostel”
Even though it's a hostel, it doesn't feel like one. You only realize it's a hostel because of the shared bathroom (con) and the kitchen (pro). The bathroom and shower room were always very clean and they are not shared between many people, so they are always available. The room is small but it has what it needs: a bed, a small desk, tv and a sink. The property is very quiet and silent. The breakfast is modest with variation, but still with very good quality. Staff were friendly and ready to assist you with whatever is needed. Location is less than 5 minutes walking distance to the central train and bus stations. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils, pans, oven, fridge, microwave, everything you need to make it your stay more comfortable. If you don't want to eat out, just go to ICA or Willys (both are also 5 minutes walking distance), buy what you want to eat, and then cook on their kitchen. Approved stay, will definitely stay there other times when in town!

Recommended! We had a room with 3 bunk beds for 6 people. It was very clean, the breakfast was great and we even got a nice breakfast bag when we left before 6 am :) Thanks a lot!

“Best shower ever”
Very clean room and convenient with its own faucet. Comfortable bed. But the shower was 10/10. Super nice pressure, did not want to get out.

Breakfast was relatively modest, but it had everything I needed (Northern European style?). I tasted Oatly yoghurt for the first time there. Very helpful staff

“10/10 would stay here again”
Super clean throughout (rooms, kitchen, corridors, showers, toilets, you name it), with excellent facilities at a very reasonable. The best thing was the lovely breakfast and the super friendly breakfast lady. I can warmly recommend this place to any travellers, even to those travelling with small children.
