“Revitalizing Family-Run Guesthouse for Pilgrims”

I stayed at Maison d’Hôtes Larraldis in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and it was fantastic. This family-run guesthouse is in a picturesque spot, less than a 5-minute walk from the center, yet wonderfully peaceful. The rooms are spotless, the bunk beds are genuinely comfortable, and the showers are excellent. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, and the warm welcome from Heidi and Manu was truly revitalizing. As a pilgrim, it’s exactly the kind of place that gives you the calm and peace of mind you’re looking for. Practical bonus for Camino walkers: there’s a Lidl nearby in case you need to stock up on supplies. And if the weather is good, you can relax in the garden and listen to the goats nearby. Highly recommended.

This was a lovely home with a beautiful rural outlook and is only a few minutes walk to the centre of St Jean Pied de Port. Heydis and Manu are lovely welcoming hosts. The accommodation is warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean.

I received a very well welcome from Emmanuel. He showed his room and demonstrated how to use everything. He is a very nice man who repeatedly went out of his way to ensure that I had a good stay. Everything was spotlessly clean and it was a joy to have lovely bedlinen at a towel before starting on the Camino where things are a little more basic. The shower was great, this is important to me.

The hosts were very friendly and informative. They took the time to show us a good route into town, and to the start of the Camino. Our room was comfortable and it was nice to have the private bathroom and a big bed. The hosts have a gorgeous dog and cat too, who we loved meeting

Manus, Heydis and family were generous, welcoming hosts who went out of their way to ensure an authentic and welcoming experience for me as a guest walking the Camino. I had a few nights there and was catching the ‘Donkey Bus’ back out to the Camino (lack of accommodation ahead). Manus’s food was exceptional, every morsel delicious, careful sourced, prepared and enjoyed. It was like ‘love on a plate’. Manus has set a high benchmark for my next few months in the Camino that will be hard to match. 👣👣

This was an amazing discovery in Saint-Jean, and what a great start for the Camino. Manuel and Heidi were incredible hosts, and I thank them for their care to the hostel first which is amazing, and their dedications to make sure I had all the good advices, preparations for my trip ahead. We were served freshly baked baguettes for breakfast with everything we needed for a good start. I would recommend this place with my heart!

Host was very lovely and the Gite has a 'homestyle approach' very relaxed and lovely husband and wife running the Gite together. Also very kindly booked us restaurants for the evening as our phone were not working. Bedrooms each have own shower and plenty of space Breakfast and fresh fruit was delicious/

A wonderful family and a very nice quiet place. A wonderful dog and cat that are always nearby and ready to play. It's really worth coming here.

Safe parking available and hosts go out of their way to help guests arrange pick ups or drops offs to local transport. Pleasant rooms, good showers, friendly pets, tranquil location. Easy 10 minute walk in to centre of St Jean Pied de Port

A beautiful home and wonderful hosts. A friendly dog, amazing room, clean and fresh. Lots of hot water for showers. Secure place for our bikes and wonderful shared breakfast with amazing selection of home made confitures. Lots of help with route/ info about where to aim for on the Camino. Exceptional 😁
