Udon thani isn't really on the tourist circuit like Nong Khai but it's a good, safe and convenient place to spend time. Friendly staff and locals. Easy to get around. Good nearby restaurants.

“Great value stay in a convenient location.”
This budget hotel/hostel is well located and offers excellent value for money. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the place is pretty clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed. A simple breakfast of toast, jam, and instant coffee is available in the morning, which is a nice bonus. There’s also a very convenient fridge stocked with drinks at really reasonable prices. Overall, a comfortable and affordable place to stay.
