“A small paradise with a perfect safari”

It's a beautiful, little paradise. The sound of the beautiful river in front of the room and the birds were so sweet. The outdoor bathroom was also great! The hosts were very loving, kind and helpful. They organized a wonderful half-day safari. It was amazing. The food was amazing too! Highly recommended.

Asanka and his wife did everything to make our stay to be perfect. From transport service, a warm welcome, safari arrangement and delicious food for breakfast and dinner, it has been great. The location of the resort is perfect for nature lovers being right beside a little river.Highly to recommend for a stay!

“Amazing experience”

We had a wonderful stay! The rooms were clean and well-arranged, conveniently located close to each other, which made it perfect for our group. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful — ideal for relaxation. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They even arranged a delicious BBQ dinner for us at a very reasonable price. Despite being a small property, it had everything we needed, including a jacuzzi, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, it was a great experience, and we truly enjoyed our time there

“Amazing safari”

Asanka, who runs this lodge, was very kind. He arranged all our transfers and tours at a very good price. We had the best Sri Lankan food we had during our 2 week vacation. The rooms were very clean and the safari was amazing.

The owners are attentive and professional. I found this place to be a unique setting. The beautiful river flowing in front of all the rooms, its sound and the melodious singing of many species of birds. Also booked the safari from the place and it was a professional and good value service. With a very clean room, breakfast and dinner were very good. Definitely a great place to stay.

“A small bird paradise offering the best hospitality, close to the park”

What a wonderful place to stay. Even better than the photos. The room was clean and had WiFi, AC, hot shower, mosquito nets and comfortable beds. The hosts were super friendly and hospitable and looked after us very well. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained, it was truly a green paradise. There is a charming river flowing by the room and you can enjoy wonderful bird calls throughout the day. The food was delicious, we enjoyed a variety of traditional Sri Lankan dishes, we highly recommend booking your safari through the hosts, we did, it was a treat. Our guide was fantastic and he happily shared his knowledge and passion for animals with us. We saw many elephants including baby elephants and many other animals and birds. He is a really good guide. Highly recommended for a multi-day holiday and long safari.

The owners are amazing, very friendly and kind, the place is out of this world. You can definitely feel the atmosphere of a bird paradise. The best thing is the safari trip arranged by Asanka. The driver with over 15 years of experience was a very complete guide. Although I have been on safari many times even in African countries, this was my best safari trip. It was truly amazing. If you come to Udawalawe, do not miss this place. Highly recommended.

I can't describe in words how much I enjoyed "Atha Safari". Everything here is perfect. The cabin is very clean, the beds, the wifi are all perfect. The park is built with great attention to the river in front. It is truly a green paradise. Book a safari with Asanka without fail. It was amazing. They took good care of me, I felt completely comfortable and welcome. I had breakfast and dinner. It was the best meal of my trip, they took into account that I don't eat meat. Thank you for everything, it was so heartwarming. I hope I can meet you again one day. My heart is filled with wonderful emotions. Never miss this.

“Fabulous cosy jungle resort”

The location by the river is fabulous. The murmur of the river, together with the sound of cicadas, provides a peaceful background sound. You can enjoy it in the hammocks and beds in the garden. The rooms at this cosy resort are of great design with highly original elements. They are beautiful, spacious, clean, and well-equipped. Everything worked, and the staff was friendly. We had lunch, dinner, and breakfast at the resort, which were all very tasty. We had the riverview (King's) room for 1p, the deluxe room for 1p, and the villa for 2. The latter two rooms have a cute porch with chairs. The safari we booked through the resort was very good. The driver/guide knows his job. He drove us around safely, and showed many animals. Communication with Asanka was easy and fast. It was very convenient that we could pay by creditcard.

It is a wonderful, beautiful cottage. Very clean and everything is functional. The hospitable owner Asanka was a great host. Taxis and a safari were arranged for us. The food was excellent. . A wonderful location close to the safari park. The sound of the river and the birds are amazing. Great for a few days' vacation. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

The host was lovely and went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. He was able to organise safari for us to see the animals in the local area. The huts were really cute, air conditioned and good shower facilities. The kids loved playing on the hammocks. The food was great, really fresh and made to suit western tastebuds! Overall, a very enjoyable stay.
