The guesthouse staffs are very friendly and had interactions with me even I'm a non-Japanese speaking foreigner. The house is traditional Japanese wooden made. The inside is renovated to modern style. Toilets and shower rooms are super clean and comfort definitely to lady's standard.

“Flawless, underrated treasure”

I liked everything. The staff were very friendly, the place was spotless and very beautiful, the bed space was generous and the bar has a bar which- the appreciation of having 24/7 drink access- was unexpectedly a total highlight. The owner took us for an exclusive walk around a local cinema and also had plenty of advice on how to make the most of the day. It is also situated in the perfect spot for cultural travellers. So affordable too, I rate this highly also because the price point is excellent.

House was very cozy and impeccably well kept, shared spaces were clean, tidy and comfortable and in a beautiful town.

I enjoyed entering a space full of beautiful details, vases, framed pictures, beautiful Japanese lamps, a small picture clipped to a curtain… warm and friendly staff so helpful.

“Warm and welcoming historical stay”

Uchikobare was more than accomodation. As soon as you entered you felt you were part of a community. Our host Yama created a welcoming and relaxed environment. Although this accomodation is suited to a younger backpacker traveller as a couple in our late 60's with suitcases we didn't feel out of place. The tour of a 90yr old cinema which was bound for demolition before Yama started renting it and trying to revive it was inspiring and a trip down memory lane. Would highly recommend a stay here if ever visiting the historical town of Uchiko

“Lovely hostel with lovely owners on a lovely old street”

Lovely hostel on a lovely old street. The owners were friendly and gave us an interesting tour of the local area. As the name says, there's a mar with nice craft beers and liquors. My dorm capsule was really spacious, I could stand up inside!

Absolutely beautiful Guesthouse. Perfectly located. The staff is really nice and the homemade dinner was amazing ! There is also a nice little coffee/bar adjacent to the living room. Everything was great !
