Our stay at Lake Atitlán was nothing short of unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty—the kind that instantly makes you slow down and appreciate where you are. Waking up to the calm lake and lush greenery each morning felt almost surreal. The food was an absolute highlight. Every meal was thoughtfully prepared, fresh, and full of flavor, making it something we genuinely looked forward to each day. Dining in such a peaceful, natural setting made the experience even more special. What truly set this stay apart was the sense of adventure and excitement woven into the experience—it felt like a bit of a hidden gem, with moments that were surprising, unique, and memorable in the best way. The space itself was comfortable, well cared for, and perfectly integrated into the surroundings, allowing us to fully disconnect and relax. If you’re looking for a place that combines incredible scenery, delicious food, and a one-of-a-kind experience, this is it. We would absolutely come back.

Probably the best accommodation I have stayed in and probably will be for a long time. The glamping tents are great, the views are unbelievable and the owners and staff are so kind and caring. The breakfast with a view and waking up to sunrise and the sounds of birds made this stay so special. The owners are also a great help in organising transport, trips and giving suggestions and advice. 10/10

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Picnic! The views were amazing, extremely good food for both breakfast and dinner, and the property was gorgeously built in the hills. We loved the tree house, everyone was extremely friendly. There are only four cabins in total which makes it intimate and peaceful. Highly recommend to stay here for visiting Lake Atitlan!

The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views over the lake that are simply priceless. We rarely sleep somewhere with scenery like this — waking up to spectacular sunrises every morning made it completely worthwhile. The cabin itself was comfortable and the perfect place to unwind after an active day, with the view always there to enjoy. Hosts Gaby and Jochem go above and beyond: they prepare dinner every evening and genuinely take care of their guests, making sure everyone feels looked after. When we had an early departure, they even prepared a lovely packed lunch for us — a thoughtful touch we really appreciated. This is a stay that stands in a category of its own.

Everything! Amazing room with an amazing view, and the service provided by the owners and staff is top tier. Food was absolutely incredible, especially having breakfast with a view every morning.

Gaby and Joachim were very welcoming and helpful with travel advice and booking transfers. Our spanish is very limited so it was great that they both speak excellent english. Breakfast overlooking the lake was a real treat.

It’s an amazing place in a small and quiet town. We were glad we didn’t stay in Panajachel, San Pedro or San Juan. The host, Gaby and Jochem, are great hosts. They offer a lot of info and they can arrange almost everything for you. And the food they serve is great as well.

El Picnic is amazing. The food is so good, hosts Gaby and Jochen were incredibly welcoming and warm, and the views are stunning. The room was so private, with lakefront views from the bed, shower and toilet! We didn't want to leave as we felt so relaxed here and couldn't get enough of the food.

Breakfast and dinner are a daily surprise, and every single meal was a delight. Creative, fresh, and absolutely delicious – it’s clear a lot of love goes into every dish.
