It’s a lovely place to watch birds with shrubs trees and flowers especially for birds and hummingbirds. The meals are tasty and well prepared. Jose will drive you to other places for bird watchers ng or interest.

The host Jose was very enthusiastic about the birds on his property and was very eager to show us around. His wife prepared some delicious meals. The cabin was comfortable with a bushland view and spacious deck to relax.

This property is perfect for bird lovers, the host is extremely enthusiastic and showed us around the property and the various birds. The view from the cabnas are also nice, but definitely rustic and in nature. Ideal for people looking for sleeping in nature and really into birds.

A great birding spot! Jose was a very helpful host. He picked us up in Torrialba and drove us to the Cabanas. He showed us some of the local birding spots. The cabins were clean and comfortable. Meals were simple but good. Very good value for money.

“Great place to stay while birding”

An excellent place to stay in the area, especially if you are there for the birding. Much more affordable than similar birding lodges in the area, and very close to Tayutic Mountain Reserve (which I strongly recommend visiting as well). You can stay here and visit Tayutic Mountain Reserve during the day for a price point that comes in at about a quarter what you'd spend to stay at the most well-known birding lodge in the area. The included breakfast was very good.

The host was exceptionally helpful. The property has lots of birds. It is a shame he doesn't organise bird tours.

If you enjoy birds and nature you will love these cabanas. Situated in a garden planted with birds in mind, there are so many hummingbirds and many other species, even a toucan! Jose is a great guide, and took us down to the river to look for a sun bittern. We ate local breakfasts - eggs, rice, beans and plantain, which were delicious. Very friendly and helpful hosts.

Great terrace with a close view on jungle-like trees, full of trees and wildlife. Dining area surrounded by feeding colibri. Beautiful garden and friendly host. Rooms kept simple but clean and comfortable,

Good location. Many birds and humming birds on extensive site and track leading to it. Very friendly and helpful owner who took us around local area and showed us good sites for birding. Very good home cooking.

The owner, José, did everything in his power to make my stay as pleasant as possible. He really is a great host and very nice person. The place is very quiet and loaded with birds. So if the place is available, don't hesitate and just book. You won't regret it and its worth it! So many birds to see, enjoy and photograph. The view from the hills towards Irazu volcano, Turrialba volcano and Turrialba town are priceless. The room is very comfortable and everything you need is there. I didn't expect to have any internet. But i had it in the room and functioned very well.

This is the most hospitable and friendly place to stay. The host guided us for birding and helped us sort out a car problem. They treated us as family. It is a great alternative to the high price resort nearby. The food is very good.
