“A Masterpiece of History and Hospitality: Our Stay at Dar Rajli”
If you are looking for an authentic soul-stirring experience in the heart of the Tunis Medina, look no further. Our two-night stay at Dar Rajli was nothing short of magical. This 18th-century gem managed to transport us back in time while providing every modern comfort we could have asked for. The restoration of this dar is a triumph. It’s clear that the renovation was a labor of love, executed with a deep respect for its original 18th-century character. The intricate carved stucco with geometric patterns and Arabic calligraphy, soaring arches, and traditional central courtyard remain the stars of the show. Subtle, contemporary touches—from the lighting to the plush bedding and modern bathrooms—ensure the space feels fresh and luxurious rather than like a museum. What truly elevated our stay was the service. Our host was exceptionally helpful and responsive. From the moment we booked until the moment we checked out, communication was effortless. Whether we needed local recommendations or help navigating the winding alleys of the Medina, they were always just a quick message away with a thoughtful answer. Why You Should Stay Here Location: Perfectly situated to explore the vibrant souks and historic sites of Tunis. Atmosphere: Quiet and serene, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling city streets outside. Authenticity: You aren't just staying in a hotel; you’re living in a piece of Tunisian history. Dar Rajli is a rare find. It’s a place that honors its past while embracing the present, making it the perfect home base for any traveler with a penchant for beauty and heritage. We left feeling inspired and are already dreaming of our return.

“An exceptional stay in a fabulous Medina house”
Stunningly renovated traditional house in the Medina area. An absolute gem. It felt like a privilege to stay there. Amel, the owner, was amazing. She couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. Even arranging a table for us at a fantastic NYE event. Above and beyond, this was a wonderful stay.

The villa is actually a two level building and another one for the roof top (the rooftop is good for absorbing some sun and getting in a view of the tunisian mosques and buildings structure. It is not for a long stay though. The bottom floor had two big bedrooms, each with its own beautifully designed and well maintained toilets and showers. The top floor had yet another one humongous bedroom with one more great bathroom. The ground floor has a suitable kitchen with a mix of maintaining the ambiance of the old architecture yet new utensils and kitchen tools. It is was good enough for our needs and in that floor is another toilet by the door just in case you didn’t have enough! The apartment has a small living room couch and NO TV (which might not appeal to some but for us, it was perfect). There is an amazing hall/yard like where you can sit if the weather allows it and take in all the feelings of buildings from old centuries. The internet and phone coverage is not good in all places but work fine in the living room which was good enough for us to stay connected when needed but if you need your mobile coverage in all places (in bed), you will not have that. Nothing better than super could be said about the owner’s hospitality. She is welcoming, helpful, full of good recommendations, kept the apartment very well supported with towels, soap, toilet paper, everything that might be needed. I highly recommend this place for a group who are willing to feel Tunis. There is no parking “right” in front of the door but one minute walk and there is a street where we were lucky enough to park sometimes but it is not the easiest.

“Best place to stay in tunis”
The villa is lovely, spacious and comfortable. we had a lovely stay . The kitchen is well enough stocked to do a bit of cooking if needed. situated in a nice neighborhood its close to a bakery where you can buy baguettes in the morning ( top of the lane to the left) and a few small stores where you can buy eggs , coffee etc , (top of the lane to the right) . TIP* From the top of the lane turn left on rue de Pacha, the souks are about a 15 minute walk along this road , where you will also find coffee shops, fast food takeaway, pizzas etc and some restaurants, it's a pleasant and interesting walk. if you follow the souks all the way to the bottom you will arrive at the top of AVE du France,l, where you can buy wine and beer in Maison de generate and the nearby monoprix . A bit further down in the same side you will find the theatre cafe / restaurant which serves good food at reasonable prices . Avoid like the plague the street side restruants on the opposite side .

“A wonderful Tunisian experience”
Amazing traditional Tunisian house in the heart of the medina and 5-7 mins walking distance to the souks and the Zitouna mosque. The place is in an impeccable condition keeping every detail in mind and very clean too. We were a family of 6 and had lots of space to be comfortable and move around. The decoration and styling make you feel like a princess 😉. The host was easily accessible and very responsive. This place definitely elevated our stay in Tunisia!

Beautiful, clean, and well-equipped property. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom which was a welcome bonus. The house is situated in a great location, with coffee shops and patisseries nearby, and is in walking distance from the medina. The hosts were responsive and very pleasant.

“Great stay”
The house really is amazing. The decoration is just awesome, even the bathrooms are cool and the beds are comfortable. In addition there is a rooftop where you can take a look at the city Skyline. Additionally the location is very good too, within walkikg distance to main attractions. The host was very helpful.
