Overview
Situated on an old mountain farm in the Tuddal Valley, Hogstul Hytter offers cottages and apartments with free Wi-Fi access and traditional décor. Heddal Stave Church is 35 km away. A seating area, fireplace and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels feature in all units at Hogstul. Each has a kitchen with stove, fridge and coffee maker. Most have a terrace with panoramic valley views. Canoes and boats can be rented on site. Popular activities in the area include hiking, fishing and cycling. Kongsberg is 70 km from the property, Notodden 40 km and Rjukan 36 km. The road between Tuddal and Rjukan, FV 3430, is closed during wintertime. Both Notodden and Rjukan are Unesco World Heritage listed towns.

We were there in winter and I'm writing these reviews based on that. Beautiful cottage at quiet and peaceful place to spend time with family. Wooden house with two double bedrooms and a mezzanine for 2 people. Fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, kettle and stove with oven. Good speed WiFi. Cell network is also available. Bathroom with sink and shower and heated floor. Driveway for cars in front of the house. If someone is planning to ski at Gausta skicenter, the shortest route leading there is closed for winter and you have to go around 90 km to get there. Linens is additionally paid for each person. Deposit for cleaning the cottage NOK 500. Nice hosts are always willing to help.

“We were very happy with our stay and will most likely come back again in the future.”
Breakfast was not included and was not a part of our contract with the owner. We loved to prepare our own breakfast and other meals at the cottage. We loved the interior, the location - right in the nature - and the beautiful view from our cottage. And we loved to pick berries right in the area.

“Amazing place”
Beautiful location. Authentic Norwegian Hytter , very cosy and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Stunning lake views and we enjoyed canoeing/ rowing. Very welcoming and helpful hosts. We would love to stay again.

“Restfull stay in Norvegian nature.”
The cottages are situated on a hillside top. From the covered terrace, you have a wonderful view. It’s lovely to make a walk down the hill and arrive below at one of the lakes down below. Cottages are spacious and clean. Not luxurious, but you have everything you need for a pleasant and quiet stay in a calm, natural Norvegian environment. We also appreciated the central cottage with washing a drying machine. And the Gaustatoppen are at a 20 minutes drive where you can have splendid hikes. Did I mention the friendly and helpfull management of the owners?

“Awesome! 🥰”
I like everything about the property. It’s big and very comfortable for us. We were 5 when we were there, and we were satisfied with our stay. The view is fantastic. The lake is just 10min walk and we were able to do some activities. The host are very kind too. We will definitely treasure the experience that we had and will definitely come back again. 😃
