“Beautiful traditional guest house with charming hosts”

Kana and Himeka are the most charming and friendly hosts and welcomed us with delicious cups of tea. They showed us to our beautiful room which was elegantly furnished in traditional Japanese style with thick futon beds and fluffy duvets. Tea making facilities are provided. Our room looked out on a lovely traditional Japanese garden. The toilet and bathrooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and served in the atmospheric attached cafe. The guest house is a beautifully restored traditional Japanese building. Most highly recommended.

I'm vegetarian which can pose problems when travelling in Japan. In Nomad she made a vegetarian breakfast for me which was much appreciated

“Hidden gem in Tsuwano”

Everything, from the atmosphere in the reception area/cafe, to the warm welcome from the people running the place, to the calm and comfortable rooms. And the delocious Japanese breakfast (western style is also available). Wish we'd booked for longer so we coule have enjoyed sitting looking at the garden from our room.

The people running 野窓 Nomad in Tsuwano are absolute saints. I can’t thank them enough for how warmly they treated me throughout my stay. I was lucky enough to be invited to join their 新米 (shinmai, freshly harvested rice) celebration event, which was not only delicious but genuinely heartwarming—it felt like being welcomed into a community, not just a guesthouse. Above all, I really appreciated the opportunity to fully immerse myself in Japanese. I was initially surprised to read reviews mentioning that English was spoken here, but I realised they made a conscious and respectful choice not to treat me differently from the other (Japanese) guests. They were incredibly patient and encouraging with my Japanese level, and it gave me the kind of authentic experience I’d been hoping for.

Wonderful hospitality, telling us many good places in the town and even seeing off the people (and us) on the SL train. Good and healthy breakfast. Clean and comfortable room. The location is also good, just behind the TSUWANO station. It's just 10 min. on foot to the main area.

My stay in this guesthouse was the best experience in Tsuwano! Our hostess made us feel like home! She suggested me how to spend my time while in Tsuwano, taking in consideration my preferences. I also had a welcome gift and a warm cup of tea when I arrived. The breakfast was carefully prepared with high quality ingredients, and the common area was lovely with a beautiful view to the village and the cute garden.

This guest house that I would call more like a ryokan is wonderful, the house, the garden, the nice breakfast, but most of all, the host was great. My main memories of tsuwano will ever be her(Kana) and her ryokan. They were the highlight of my stay in tsuwano . Share a japanese style room with another guest, make it more interesting . Yes, the inn, rooms and garden are unique and artistically beautiful. Yes, the futons are comfortable and breakfast is exquisite. But it was our welcoming hostess, Kanaka, who made our stay so special. We so enjoyed sharing two days of joy and laughter with her, at her guesthouse in glorious tsuwano.

We really enjoyed our stay at Nomad! We liked the atmosphere and style of the place, it was so beautiful. The room was spacious, breakfast was good, and Kanako-san was very thoughtful and helpful with the sights and food around town.
