It was a clean, cozy lodge with character. I loved those designer lamp and light! Nina and Bjørn were attentive and always answered my questions right away.

You arrive by car along a snow-covered road (we were guests in January), easily navigable, but slow because of the animals roaming around. At the end of the road, a small clearing opens up, and on the left, Bjorn welcomes you next to his lodge. With a welcoming smile, he leads you to the warm and tastefully furnished apartment. The apartment has two bedrooms with soft, white duvets. The kitchen, equipped with every convenience, opens onto the living room, where you can admire the sea around the island from a beautiful window. A wonderful apartment that almost makes you want to stay there! Bjorn and Nina are two welcoming and reserved hosts, always ready to offer advice and help! Visit them, you won't regret it!

“A very special place”

Bjørn was the perfect host, and was around to greet us despite our flight being delayed. The property is in a fantastic location , a short drive from the airport/city centre, with supermarkets nearby. The property itself is so nice, very clean, warm , and has all the amenities you need. very comfy beds. the views from it are spectacular. we visited in January and were lucky enough to see the northern lights on multiple occasions , either on a snowy walk down the road , or even in bed out the window! Bjørn was very helpful on recommendations when we wanted to take a scenic drive to Sommerøy and told us about and amazing cafe to visit. we feel very lucky to have spent 4 nights here, it really is one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. thankyou ☺️

“Pure magic & complete luxury”

Every single thing was simply spectacular. The accommodation was utterly spotless, the quality of everything from the fittings, to the beds, to all equipment in the kitchen, was outstanding. Nina and Bjorn were wonderful and the scenery was honestly magical I cannot recommend this property enough. We loved our special time at Hakoya Lodge!

“Perfect apartment to enjoy the northern lights!”

EVERYTHING! Best apartment of booking.com EVER! It has all the amenities and utilities you could possibly need, the kitchen is very modern and the WiFi is super fast. The surroundings are beautiful and we got to see the incredible northern lights 3 nights out of 4! Also if you don’t want to rent a car, you can walk about 15-20 min and you can take a bus that leaves you in Tromsø. The closest grocery shop is also a bit more than 30 min on foot. And the hosts, Bjørn and Nina, couldn’t be any more lovely or welcoming, they even gave us fresh eggs from their chickens and lent us their snow shoes!!! Thanks again for everything! :)

“Wonderful”

This lodge is an absolute gem hidden in Tromso. Everything was perfect from the lodge facilities, cleanliness, location on the cutest island (bonus point added for seeing the northern lights while there), to the kindness of the hosts. Communication was so smooth and we really felt at home. I will recommend this place to anyone traveling to Tromso. Thanks again for everything!

“Fantastic accomodation, couldn’t have picked better!!”

The property was fantastic!!! Everything you could need and more. The heating was amazing, you will never feel cold inside. It is so clean, modern and the bed was insanely comfortable. The fire outside was lovely, on two nights we saw the northern lights!! Bjorn our host was so lovely, gave us tips for our stay and was so welcoming! Thank you Bjorn & Nina!!

“An amazing lodge in an incredible location, you will not be disappointed!”

The overall quality of the lodge was exceptional. The facilities were excellent and the lodge was immaculate. Bjorn was an incredible host, and we couldn't have asked for a better setting. The polar night leant it self to some incredible scenery when the sun started to creep over the horizon on the island, and being twenty minutes away from central Tromso by car makes the lodge ideally placed. a 10/10 get away!

“Good place to stay outside of Tromso.”

Very clean with all the necessary amenities (refrigerator, washer/dryer combo, microwave, oven, kitchen supplies); Shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower (only missing soap dispenser). Wi-Fi has good speed; free private parking; You get a partial water view (owners house has a water-front location) and a nice view of woods and patio space with heater.

Beautiful, arctic surroundings, we could use the entire polar day. The house was well-equipped, there was nothing missing for our family of 2+, 2yo and 5yo. Nice chats with the owners included in the price!

This is an exceptional property. It exceeded our expectations in every way! The hosts are fantastic! They went out of their way to help and make sure our stay was the best. The location was awesome. The apartment was modern yet comfortable. There isn’t enough room to say how great this was. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy Tromsø, do yourself a favor and book here!

“Cosy - friendly - absolutely amazing - northern light view”

Everything was absolutely amazing ☺️ Nina and Björn are absolutely lovely and attentive hosts, we felt at home from the very first moment. The location of the flat is very idyllic, right on the fjord with the best view of the northern lights. We were greeted with a bottle of the best wine, freshly chilled beer and fresh eggs from the house's own chickens. The evenings can be spent cosily on the terrace by the fireplace - a big thank you to the two hosts Nina and Björn for everything.

“Amazing winter stay at Hakoya Lodge”

Hakoya Lodge is an exceptional place. Before we arrived, we had read all previous very positive comments, but we did not expect it to be so great. The lodge is very comfortable, clean, tastefully and carefully designed, you have everything you may need available. The hosts are super friendly and very helpful, they gave us great hints where to make shopping, park the car in Tromso or where to drive to see northern lights. The nature around the lodge is stunning. The area is very beautiful and quiet but you are still ca. 15 minutes drive from Tromso city centre. We definitely would like to come back there!
