“A happy time in Toyamz”

A spacious house all to ourselves, with a garden of flowers and trees. The house felt like home. Our host was so friendly and full of smiles, and also generous and organised, providing everything we might want. A great spot for exploring the coast and the mountains, including the fabulous Kurobe Gorge Railway. A wonderful week in Toyama.

It's very cosy and comfy. We cooked simple meals and did a couple of loads of light laundry during our stay as they were easy to do here. The place also seems to have some kind of central heating that always seems to be kept on during the colder months (we were here during fall) so it's always somewhat toasty. The bathroom is new and roomy and the decor of the entire place is very charming. Overall, there's a very kind and peaceful atmosphere to this place. You can tell the owner put a lot of love and thought into making the place feel as much like home as possible. We rested and slept really well here. Shared some pictures. Note that the bed looked unmade cos I slept in it. I took it the next morning after checking in. 😅

“Beauitful house to stay if you have a vehicle.”

The wooden house is beautiful with plenty of space and an option for Japanese futons in the lovely loft or western style bed downstairs. We were welcomed by Hiroshi with a lovely large fruit salad in the fridge and great coffee. All the lovely little antiques curios made it feel very homey and were a treat to look at. Even fresh flowers in the loo were a nice attention to detail and welcoming as well.

Mako's land is absolutely beautiful and spacious . It's perfect for family or a group of friends. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

Very friendly host, nice quiet rural location, large house with good facilities. Konbibi and a few eateries within walking distance.

“Paradise found”

What a gorgeous little piece of wonderland. This property is immaculate, with so many special and thoughtful little touches to the decor, that seem so perfect yet I would have never thought to do it myself. Hiroshi had ice cold Melon waiting for us in the fridge and he even got the kids a little pack of fire crackers, which they were incredibly excited about. We were only passing through Toyama but we could have been here for a much longer stay. Mako and Hiroshi are lovely hosts.

Absolutely loved the whole experience, from meeting the lovely host to spending the night in this beautiful house. Very convenient when driving across central Honshu.

“Very pleasant stay”

The house was lovely and just as shown. It looked very pretty lit up at night. It was easy to find from the bus stop. Hiroshi was very welcoming and friendly. There was plenty of room. There were good restaurants in easy walking distance. We tried the tempura one, one sushi one, and both were excellent. The pizzas at the unassuming pizza place across the main road were very good indeed. Everyone was very helpful to a group of non-Japanese speakers.

Such an amazing place to stay, the accommodation is beyond beautiful and the hosts are incredibly friendly. Perfect place to stay with a group of friends with plenty of space.

“Blissful, relaxing and comfortable”

Mako land is a peaceful, cosy, calm and serene sanctuary. The house is full of whimsy and character - great collection of memories and antiques. A truly unique experience and one not to be missed. We loved the warm and homely feel. The under floor heating was divine especially when it was cold. The house was big enough to give everyone a little bit of space. Beds and futon were comfy. All amenities provided but I would suggest bringing your own body wash. Hiroshi and his wife were welcoming, so hospitable and happy to assist. We had a hire car so travelling from the house outbound was easy. We did not use public transport. Sell drive would be my preferred way to get around Toyama. The house is close to convenience stores and restaurants. Highly recommended.

“A home away from home”

Beautiful beautiful house making it like a home away from home. The house is spacious and bright with large windows facing the green outdoors. There were a few cozy corners allowing use to sit down chat and enjoy the view. The kitchen and bathroom is well equipped with the necessities. The host is attentive and kind, making sure we are warm and comfortable. He was also helpful in answering our questions and available whenever we need to find him. Other than that, he gave us much privacy. Would not hesitate to choose Makoland again if we ever go back to Toyama. The warmth of the house made my stay in Toyama enjoyable.

The owner is very nice and willing to communicate. The overall environment of the B&B is very comfortable. Although the equipment is little bit old but it is quite interesting and practical. It is a place worth recommending.

The house design and cosiness is as pleasant as his wonderful owner. Luminous rooms, cute decoration, beautiful garden.

“A beautiful home stay in calm and quiet area.”

The property was in a remote farming location, 30 min bus ride outside of the city. Lots of beautiful cherry blossoms in a wide mountainous area. The home itself was very warm and welcoming with a lot of activities including board games, films and books available to read. We could tell the space was well loved and it felt special to live amongst it! Would 100% stay here again! A++++

“Amazing!!!”

The host lives next door and they were amazing!!! Best experience I had so far on my road trip. Accomodation is just as seen in the photos, lots of decorations, some vintage and lots of furnitures but very clean. We were here in March and it was such a cozy stay. We were a group of 4 so the house was huge for us. The host was amazing in general, he was a funny and outgoing uncle. ^^
