Everything was great! Apartments are modest, but have everything you need. Bed is super comfortable, the apartment is clean and you can listen to the nature sounds around you, while staying in the pueblo. Carlos is the best host ever! He helped us get the tours planned and we saw over 20 species in just one day!

The location within the village gave a real feel of being in the centre of the action and connected tot the hard-working people of tortuguero. Carlos is the best host you can wish: always able to help or come with nice stories ;and lovely empanada’s. Stay here if you come to tortuguero!

The owner was kind of pushy in trying to sell tours and boat. Fortunately we did not buy it from him, because we found better deals in the main street.

“Carlos is the best!”

As everyone says, Carlos is the best!!! From the communication to the attention, Carlos ensured our first time to Tortuguero was a great experience. He had a river boat agent, Christian, be on the lookout for us at La Pavona to start the journey. Carlos met us at the Tortuguero dock, helped us to the apartment, and welcomed us with his empanadas. Carlos introduced us to an excellent guide, a born local and educated naturalist, Boa, who provided a fantastic canoe tour and park tour that were insightful, educational, and personal. Boa also speaks excellent English and is fluent in Spanish, French, and Japanese. We were also lucky to see 3 giant green turtles nesting on the beach with a night guide. Carlos and his wife lived right next door and provided daily attention above expectations. The apartment had great AC and all of our basic needs were met. A family friendly area that felt very safe. Thank you Carlos!

Fantastic host! Showed us the monkeys and even offered to let us feed them. Lots of helpful advice. Lots of space and flexible with check in and out. Carlos was wonderful.

The apartment is clean, has air conditioner, kitchen and possibility to wash clothes. The host Carlos is very friendly and super helpful. Check in was possible at 7 am. Carlos also organized several tours

“Good value for money and excellent host”

The host was very friendly and helpful, showing us where the local shop and drinking water supply was. Anything extra we needed for the kitchen he provided. Cleaned the apartment and bedding during our stay. He offered many other things and was very helpful all round. The property is in the heart of the local community and very close to the national park entrance, as well as an easy stroll into town or to the beach.

“Honeymoon at Apartmentos Caiman”

My wife and I visited Tortuguero for 3 nights and we stayed at Apartmentos Caiman. Carlos was a fantastic host who went above and beyond. He offered us transport from San Jose and his son Steven greeted us at Tortuguero. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. It has a great location as it's so close to the jungle, beach and town. It is a great viewpoint for wildlife with toucans in the trees in the morning and monkeys in the evening. It was a great escape from the heat because it has wifi and air conditioning. Carlos and Steven made us both feel like family. They arranged tours for us and transport to our next location. I will be recommending Apartmentos Caiman to my friends and family.

Great place to stay in Tortuguero. Carlos is a very nice and helpful person, caring about his clients. The apartment is very clean and has all you need - comfy beds, air conditioning, kitchen and utilities. Within a minute walk to the town’s main street.

The apartment was tidy and very clean. Well functioning wifi and AC. The owner is really nice and helpful!! Would recommend!

We stayed in the apartment with the bedroom upstairs.  It was clean and tidy, heated shower and good AC in the bedroom.  the kitchen had a fridge, fryer, kettle and simple rice cooker which gave us everything we needed to cook evening meals.  Carlos and his son made us very welcome and helped with tours, public boat transport, etc.  We had a great time here and would highly recommend it.

“A great place, well located and very welcoming”

The host has been very welcoming and helpful to make the most of our stay (arranging tour trips, showing us animals around the property etc. despite of us not speaking any Spanish :-) The flat was very clean and had all the amenities (kitchen, possibility to wash clothes, ...). The aircon has been highly appreciated (for us Tortuguero has been the place in Costa Rica where it was most needed).

The host did not speak English but imaginatively used voice translation to convey his message. He was very helpful and kind. The place was very clean and and close the the national park. He organised the two most important tour; the turtle tour and the canoe tour. Both tours were great. Form my bedroom window, I saw a spider monkey just two meters away.

Clean and comfortable. Having a kettle and some cooking facilities was useful. The AC in the bedroom was very good given the high temperature. Very helpful host.

“Perfect stay in Tortuguero.”

This is probably the nicest place I have stayed at during my stay at Costa Rica. You basically have a whole flat to yourself, which is well equipped, spotless clean and seems to be pretty new. The location is perfect, the owner was lovely. You really can’t go wrong with this place!
